Was in the millenium lounge beforehand. PV was sitting on the table adjacent to me. Was earwigging his conversation. Nothing interesting until an unidentified bloke wandered up and asked "is it done"? The response was a knowing smile and the merest hint of a nod.
Now, he could have been talking about his dinner, but I am quietly confident we will be getting the news we want very early next week.
Lots of talk about the Gray move from a few people. Nothing to do with the takeover apparently, all to do with the deal not being right for us or the player.
Also overheard a couple of suits at the bar talking about Lee Barnard. As has been previously reported, very keen to join us apparently.
supposedly the takover was going to be complted in June.....then it became July. The Forum got involved and an evening with Chappell & Murray was postponed because of ongoing talks and confidentiality. Then in early August the Forum are told " not long now" and whispers on here were talking about it being wrapped up yesterday .......its nearly Seprember, 8 days away from transfer deadline and still nothing.
then somebody hears the woreds "is it done" and sees a slight nod and suddenly we should all hear early next week.....so it wont be a surprise if I take ANYTHING I hear with a pinch of salt.

Precisely. Parkinson declined the salt though because squid is already quite salty.
Don't you think its great (and re-assuring) to see PV around the place again and clearly involved! I hope that after the deal (hopefully) is announced, that he has a hands on role, and also that he comes on here so that we can send him our best wishes.
At the game yesterday when i arrived just after two i saw PV's car parked in his usual place but a car was missing owned by RM. Once the game had finshed walking out it was still nowhere to be seen. Can someone tell me if he was actually there yesterday?

He only a phone call away. Board meetings can be done via conference calls. Why give up your holiday just because something might happen.
I thought takeover talks had been going on since the end of last season.
Conspiracy theory: RM's gone on holiday now, because with the takeover done and dusted, he's played his part already and there's nothing more for him to do.

Edit: since I posted ..... I see above that RM was actually in his seat, just nobody saw him except 2 posters with the vision and gift to actually see exactly what they were looking at.
So RM wasn't on holiday at all ...... and there wasn't even a decent conspiracy theory....... (
Progressing maybe but not done ? I hope that will not put the kibosh on signing much needed reinforcements this week. Only 9 days now till window closes. Injury to one or more would be a disaster at the moment.
Deal has not been completed. There is more than one interested party involved which why this takeover appears to be dragging - one party involves a very wealthy person.
