I was utterly embarrassed!I could understand the frustration of our fans seeing as we were still 1-0 down at the time. But Parkys reaction when shelvey scored was, a fist pump directed at our fans in a manner which came across as "stick that one up your backsides"!When are our fans going to stop being so thickle and just let this poor guy get on with his job!?To me and probably alot of people....he seems to know what hes doing and he does it well!
Give the guy a break because i think hes going to do big things for this club! I was so happy for him at the end, he just looked so pleased for our team congratulating them one by one!

Im not saying he is a world beater, but its like he is in a personal battle with our fans trying to win us over!I already think he is a better manager than pardew!Also....he could of easily changed the formation when he was being pressured by our fans but he stuck to his guns....and just look at the result!

no, but it was possible someone else may have... you can't quantify what shelvey did tonight with that finish

at the end of the day, some (i included) felt two up front was necessary to get the goal(s) to get us back into the game

that Parky didn't, whether through tactical prowess or fortune, or whatever mix of the two, just shows why he is a manager and a few thousand of us aren't...

no need for the holier than thou stuff

we won, let's all be happy, agreement, disagreement, if I could've done this or that aside, end of story

agree with ISaw. Needed changing to 4-4-2 and just because we got away with it doesn't mean Parky got it right. And yes Parky still does have a bit to do to win some of us over. Three wins in 30 isn't just rectified with a good start to the new season. There are 43 games to go so let's see where we are at the end of it.

We had McLeod, Fleetwood and an unfit Andy Gray on the bench, it's no surprise he was in no rush to bring any of them on. Hopefully we can get a goalscorer in to give us a different option from the bench, a player Parky and the fans can all have confidence in, someone that should score goals given the service.

To be fair it was only being sung for about 15seconds before we scored, would have been the biggest knee jerk reaction ever to change things before that!!!

By the way, I am a Parky fan and have really to be honest 'felt sorry for him'

We took 3000 fans to an away match - if as you say 1000 or so were 'fairweather' fans then that leaves the club with about 2,000 'real' supporters and 9500 seasonticket holders...what a load of sh1te.

I was annoyed (to say the least) to hear the booing behind me, but on the other hand, those of us who have defended Parky in doing what was a unenviable job, maybe need to be vocal in supporting him. Not only does he not deserve the stick, but I reckon he has earnt some praise. We don't sing out for him, and maybe its time that we did?
