I think you all remembering a bit part player in the Prem.
Most defenders didn't relish his running at them, he often created his own chances - and of course missed them!
He was no doubt a world beater in training - but should have had a far more productive career.
His biggest fan was no doubt Curbs, followed allegedly by Paulo di Canio - but I don't suppose they could recognise a talented footballer at any price?
His biggest problem wasn't just the plague of injuries - it was McLeod disease, going to pieces in front of goal.
You need mental strength to be a top pro footballer, especially a striker.
And that is probably the true reason why he didn't make more of his career.
Have him back? After the grief he got here, why should he?
But is he capable of doing a creative job for us in the Third Division? He'd be an asset.
[cite]Posted By: MrOneLung[/cite]No - if people dont like Mcleod who has pace but cannot finish, why would they want Lisbie back who has pace but cannot finish.
Yes.
Lisbie couldn't finish in the Premier League; MacLeod hasn't been able to finish above League 2 (the fourth division).
Might be interesting to see what their speed could do in tandem in the third division, where many of the defenders will be carthorses.
No, never came across as a nice bloke and only scored memorable goals against Liverpool and we won't be playing them for a while as we now have a fight to reach 3rd round. I must say it is one of the joys of being shit that the billy no mates who have the quality but lack the class don't want to come to us. I am pleased that we won't tolerate those that don't give a shit and show it anymore, let them leech off others, though I think he is struggling to earn too much of a living if he is left with Colchester and I will have a chuckle over that. We can't afford to carry lazy prima donnas anymore and personally I feel that is a good thing. I would rather see us play with 11 players who want to be there than those who have an attitude problem.
Might be because he was a prick and he couldn't score in a brothel (without assistance, allegedly). He had the talent and blew it, I would rather a leaburn any day that did not have the talent but pushed himself and performed to the best of his ability. We have all known footballers who might of made it, it makes it worse when you see a talent who didn't try. I would rather see 1905 play up front for us than someone who didn't give a fuck anyway.
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]Lisbie to Colchester Utd on season long loan
No.
My only good memory of Lisbie is the Liverpool hattrick, I'm sure he still dines out on that one. He was disliked by most fans and if ever a player needed to get away it was him. Yes he went on to have a good season with Colchester, doesn't mean he's do it for us.
I actually think the question is academic as I don't think he would have come back to us anyway.
Liar! You would have loved it if we got him back......you'd have been able to wear your LISBIE 29 shirt to games again, rather than just leavin it under your pillow.
i would be more concerned about his injury record he scored his hat trial and twice scored goals against chelsea one of which resulted in a win the other a draw. I was at ipswich for the great strike that gave us 3 points and i saw his double against us at the valley.he was never a prem player but proved himself in the chump's so could do a job for us.
Lisbie will be a quality striker at League One level. It's not his fault that he kept being offered contracts while we were in the Prem. He was a good squad player then and nothing else. He's since proved he's good enough to cut it at CCC level and I expect he'll find it a lot easier to score in League One than McLeod and Dickson will.

I stand by what I said earlier. He wouldn't come back to us and I have no doubt that he'd do nothing if he did.
Mike Small would have scored the two chances he he took today.
Kevin Lisbie has pledged his immediate future to Colchester after admitting he does not want to play under Ipswich manager Roy Keane.
Lisbie was told by Keane he was not part of his plans in the summer and subsequently joined his former club Colchester on loan, although Ipswich can recall the striker in January.
He said: "Once a manager tells you, without seeing you play a single game, that you can go on loan then it becomes very difficult to say that you would want to play for him again.
"I just felt like the club didn't want me. If I had to go back then I would, but I don't want to be going from club to club at this stage of my career. I want to be settled and I'm enjoying my time back at Colchester."

This point alone - yes
That's probably exactly what Lisbie said, when Parky approached him.
;o)
Curbs always talked about "defending from the front" before he went 4-5-1 and Euell, Bartlett and lisbie in whatever permutation were excellent at it.
Lisbie's major weakness was finishing as we know. However I bet his stats for assists were excellent.
A much maligned and unappreciated player in my opinion during his time at the Club

Done!
Can we get Lisbie back - and while we're at it, swap Dicko for Simeon Jackson, too?
Jeezuz...it took us years to get shot of ther little fecker...now you want him back!
You're only saying that because he never played in a Charlton side that stuck seven past anyone!

Kevin Misbie is no Mike Small.
I dont want to spend my hard earned on an adult that cant tie his own feckin tie.
Next!

That's not that bad, he did very well in his previous spell in the Championship with Colchester.
Good luck to him. Don't blame him for not wanting to play for Keano.
