  • Lisbie is better than any of our other strikers IMHO
  • Absolutely. Would have been a decent partner for Burton imo.

This officially shows how low we've sunken!!!

Deon Burton and Kevin Lisbie ... oh dear
  • Not in a million month of sundays
  • definately, far better than anyone else we have up front. A class act at this level I reckon.

    No.

My only good memory of Lisbie is the Liverpool hattrick, I'm sure he still dines out on that one. He was disliked by most fans and if ever a player needed to get away it was him. Yes he went on to have a good season with Colchester, doesn't mean he's do it for us.

I actually think the question is academic as I don't think he would have come back to us anyway.
  • At least we could have had an international strike partnership upfront!

  • Choice between Lisbie and Izale McLeod? Lisbie, any day of the week. But like Clem Snide says, I doubt he'd have come back to us anyway.
  • yes if we didnt have to pay him for the next 6 seasons. that should even up for the dosh he trousered over the many many years of siting on his arse .
  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  • Mind you, would have been interesting to see if Parky could get the best out of him. None of our other managers could. From what i saw the Wetherspoons pool table saw the best of Lisbie whilst we were paying his wages :-(
  • No - if people dont like Mcleod who has pace but cannot finish, why would they want Lisbie back who has pace but cannot finish.
  • Absolutely and categorically not.

He was an utterly shameless failure at Charlton; his work-rate was close to zero; his embracing of everything Charlton (ie all sticking together, backs to the wall, helping each other out in adversity, treating the Charlton family like a real family) was completely non-existent; he brazenly wasted the tiny amount of talent he had; and he perpetrated the biggest crime against Charlton imaginable of any player: he blatantly stole a living.

Kevin Lisbie back at Charlton? No thank you.
  • Apart from the Liverpool hat-trick can only ever remember him scoring against us!!!

    Waister (sad but true).
  • Would have been fine at this level, but also should have been fine in the champ in the late nineties. He wasn't, and for one reason the man's shoulders visibly sag when the pressure is on. Can't see any difference this season, too much pressure for him whilst Colchester seem to have plenty of players willing to pile in on the assists.
  • can't see how you could fault his work rate.

His finishing yes, his injuries, maybe but not as if he did it on purpose but he ran and ran all day long.

Why else did Curbs like him so much?

    Spot on. No way Jose
  • As Del Boy used to say:

    "No way Pedro"
  • Errrrrrrrm...no fanks mate!
  • No No and trice no
  • never in a million...
  • attacking his work rate is very strange, he was a hard working player for us despite being adverse to barn doors
  • Remember he was shite when we were in the prem. We ain`t any more and he would be as good as anyone we currently have. So a YES from me.

    Yes.

Lisbie couldn't finish in the Premier League; MacLeod hasn't been able to finish above League 2 (the fourth division).

Might be interesting to see what their speed could do in tandem in the third division, where many of the defenders will be carthorses.
  • Yes. And don't forget he spent a lot of his time coming on as sub in Prem games right midfield. Not saying he was treated unfairly at te time, because we ha better strikers. That's not the case now. I didn't see too much wrong with his attitude....just got on with it. Ps; don't forget the last minute header at Chelsea or the rocket winner at Ipswich....that's more than a lot of recent players have managed.
