'due to internal issues'? Is this something to do with a takeover?
Well, this what the Dover OS actually says:
CHARLTON CANCELLED
Only hours after contacting Whites to see if we could accommodate them in our pre-season schedule, Charlton have informed us that 'due to internal issues' they no longer wish to honour the fixture.

"... and because we have a hastily-arranged press conference arranged at The Valley on Tuesday"?

......... it's been a tough time, Swizzo.
I'd go and sit down. Why not pour yourself a nice cup of tea ..... ?
Extended team news: Andy Gray makes his first appearance for the Addicks for six months. The striker, sidelined with a pelvic injury since the January Valley victory against Crystal Palace, is joined up front by Izale McLeod. New signing Christian Dailly, who joined on a free transfer on Friday, is in the centre of defence with Miguel Llera and Frazer Richardson returns at right-back after illness. Matt Spring comes into midfield.
Nicky Bailey leads out the Addicks and both teams, and the fans, engage in a minute's applause for the late Sir Bobby Robson.
0 minutes: The most notable thing about the hosts is that they are wearing shirts with no numbers. Armed with descriptions of the players, the official website will endeavour to be as accurate as possible
8 minutes: A good move from Charlton as Gray picks out Richardson on the right. He feeds Sam who tricks his way into the box before Spring steers his pull-back just wide
10 minutes: Lee Bradbury's header for the hosts poses no problems for Rob Elliot
11 minutes: Elliot dives to his right to tip Steve Fletcher's header round the post
17 minutes: Bailey's fierce drive flies just over the bar - and leaves the stanchion behind the goal shaking
21 minutes: GOAL! Therry Racon opens the scoring for the visitors. The Frenchman's drive takes a big deflection off Brett Pitman after a Spring free-kick is only half cleared. 1-0
23 minutes: Bailey releases Youga on the left and his cross is scooped over at the far post by McLeod
29 minutes: The Cherries are awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box and Pitman's drive is bravely blocked in the wall by Bailey. The ball is delivered back into the box and Fletcher's header is saved by Elliot
30 minutes: Sam slips the ball through to McLeod to score with a cool finish. The goal is chalked off for offside but not before being announced by the over-eager tannoy announcer, who swiftly rescinds the decision on air!
41 minutes: PENALTY! It may be pre-season but Charlton have every right to be furious as following a quick corner, a ball from Igoe hits Racon in the box. The linesman signals hands - quite how Racon could have avoided making contact is anyone's guess. Bailey has a long chat with referee Phillips but the decision stands.
42 minutes: GOAL! After a lengthy delay Pitman lashes in the spot-kick. 1-1
Why would I be American, I'm just saying we need to support him now we ain't gonna get a new gafas so might as well give him a chance, it's not been all bad pre season.
