[cite]Posted By: ParkinsonOut[/cite]Thanks for this Dave. But I agree with what Red God has said - the club could have issued a denial immediately, but the fact they are preparing a statement sounds very worrying. Fingers crossed for some good news, but I am beginning to fear the worst.
Maybe they weren't in a position to on Monday, but can today.
I've refrained from further comment since this all started up on Saturday night. At the time I was utterly convinced that the whole thing was tosh......
Now preparing for the worst. I suspect that we are going to get a statement that none of us like.
My gut feeling is that the takeover is now in an impasse state, things have dragged on for too long.
Expecting bad news followed by a rapid diminshing of our midfield (the only place where we have players of any value).
[quote][cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]what an original name . . what will you be called when parky goes?[/quote]
I haven't decided that yet Dazzler. Hopefully he'll be getting his P45 soon and if we still have a club to support perhaps we'll get a real manager :-)
[quote][cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: aliwibble[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]even if it's not what we were hoping to hear ?[/quote] Yep, it's better to know one way or the other than drive ourselves up with wall with rumour and speculation.[/quote]
That's the way I see it.
People have been asking for info. Sounds like we are going to get it.[/quote]
Couldn't agree more.
If we are looking at a worst case scenario i.e no bid from those interested and player sales, get it out in the open.
Does sound like some sort of restriction has been removed from the equation.
Who knows, perhaps both sides have agreed that a statement can be issued.
One thing is for sure, the wild speculation of the last few days has done no one any favours.
Won't spoil my 2 day booze up on the emerald isle though!
club cancelled it after advise from legal advisers, seems takeover has now fallen through due to alledged more debt being uncovered, reported by former Charlton employee Mick Collins of the Mail on Sunday.
And I said I would ignore all the speculation for a while, then read this thread. It seems the club seem to need to say something very profound now, they are digging a deeper hole all the time otherwise. Tick tock. Not that I have anything but the greatest respect for all the directors and appreciate what they have done for the club, I really do, but it is getting difficult to stay behind them recently.
thanks FF and AFKA for pressurising the Club into action. If it's bad news bring it on, I'd rather know. Whatever it is it can't be as bad as September 1985.
And the statement will read " our legal advisers have advised us against making any comment at this time" or something similar. The whole thing has become a complete farce and could only happen at Charlton.

So 59 ... now 60 ... posts about ... a statement that hasn't been made yet.
Yikes!

As long as there is something to moan about some people will be happy.

So would you rather not know then?
