with far cheaper wages I suspect, people need to remember the type of player we can now attract !!
Spot on
• Don't worry Andy Gray is signing for Man Utd along with Kelly Youga.

Youga just turned down Real Madrid.

SSN now.
• very funny wonder how many dumbarses checked SSN! :L

Well I can't imagine Scowcroft coming all that cheap and if were going to pay his sort of wage I would prefer we got someone who has been doing it in this division. I would suspect there are a few aerial players in this division that are younger and more mobile and cheaper.
• All you have to ask yourself is two questions. Who signed him for Leicester? And was/is he better than Akinbyi?

Irregardless of this he's been on big money since Ipswich, so there's no chance we're taking over his contract. As my rating for him he is rubbish unless plodding around left midfield and someone fires in crosses all the time. Erm seen as we rarely cross an absolute waste in any ammount of resources.
• We seem to have been linked with this donkey since Don Welsh retired.

If he did come, prepare for, in the red corner, "He couldn't hit a barn door"

In the blue corner "He tracks back and is good at defending corners"

How low have we sunk....
• Not exactly a done deal is it.

His cousin's girlfriend's mate said he was going to Southampton but didn't and now he's meant to be coming to us. Shall we wait and see.
• Its not a done deal yet, all depends when we get rid of gray, as you say if the takeover goes through we may want to keep gray, all I know is scowcroft has been told that we need to get rid of gray prior to further discussions.

Not what you said in either of your first two posts.

No mention of selling Gray and you said he was "signing next week".

Now it's if we sell Gray then "further discussions". So a long way off he's "signing next week."
• All I would say is avoid, avoid, avoid!

And please kids, say NO to Scowcroft.

If you were to consult one of our stripey rivals, they would be p*ssing themselves laughing at this possibility. He is toilet, pure and simple.
I suspect they would actally say, another agent despatched to the valley to further destroy them.
• Not so much another agent, more of a trojan.....................
• please dad nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
• Our recent dealing with palace haven't really worked out too well. Dickinson would be a better bet, looks like Brighton are going to get him though.
• Burton much better, I mean, Shefki Kuqi is better than Scowcroft.
• Thankfully as we're now going bust we won't be able to sign him. There's always a positive :-)
• well, well 'We are J Block' got that one totally wrong then eh? Just signed for Leyton Orient !!! (thank gawd)
• Quote from ...We are J Block...."Remember where you heard it first."
Yup.................................................................. we have.
• Comment AuthorWe are J Block CommentTimeJul 10th 2009 quote# 1

We are going to sign Jamie Scowcroft, was seen in Beckenham tonight, said to cousin that he has been close in the past but never materialised, but have been told that he is set to sign next week, remember where you heard it first.

Who are yuh who are yuh. Wipe's egg from face :-)
• If Scowcroft has been reading any of the stuff on here, he will be a 'banker' to score against us for Orient!!

• He's a strong, imposing lump of a striker which would be a reasonable addition, in principal, as we've not had that out and out target man since Iwelumo left. I'd rather we didn't sign a sicknote who hasn't scored for 18 months though - i.e. there are surely better players out there who offer what Scowcroft does and a bit extra, without being anymore expensive.

Pointless signing him without a fast, prolific striker beside him. The potential prospect of him and Burton leading the line in tandem next season is pretty depressing
• He's just signed for Orient.

Thank feck for that!

Well,at least the prospect of Gray and Burton leading the line in tandem next season is receding ......
• Phew, thank goodness. He'll probably only score in two games this season and no clues for guessing which ones!
