It doesn't appear money in itself was the key factor - a British quid goes a long way in China.
The OS clearly states: Addicks manager Phil Parkinson told the official website: "We have spoken to ZiZi's advisors about a new deal, but they've made clear that he's not keen on playing in the third flight.
I suppose you can't really blame him.
He's 29 next month, and his chances of playing at the highest level he can, are receding rapidly.
A season in the Third Division, even if we should win promotion, would bring him to 30 years old.
He's the highest profile China player and skipper.
At his age, if he's going to achieve his personal ambitions, he must be thinking now or never.
There is no doubting the guy has got talent, I personally think that he would be too lightweight in League One. He can make defence splitting passes that's for sure but is easily be knocked off the ball and needs too much time, which he certainly won't get this season. Good luck to him wherever he goes but can't say that I am disappointed or surprised to see him go. We certainly need to keep hold of the rest of our midfield now.
He's the sort of player that would go well in the Bundesliga. Technically excellent, lots of energy without being a clogger, superb temperament and professionalism. Don't be surprised if he goes to Germany.
ZZ made a huge impact on our midfield once he returned to the team in March.
And other players performed much better playing with him - at last, we had a proper midfield again.
[cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]Quite possibly the most overrated player I have seen play for us.
Depends how people see him.
The ones that think of him as a good Prem player, creative, non-stop running superstar overrate him.
But in the right team, he would definitely be a useful player for a side going for promotion, or a squad player for a bottom 5 Prem team. He works quite hard, even if he doesn't "get stuck in", he scores goals at Championship level, his passing is simple but accurate and effective, he's comfortable taking the ball forward. I think with him he's just not outstanding in any area, but he doesn't have any huge weaknesses either. Alongside some stronger players to win the ball, and a few good attacking & creative players he'd be decent.

That's the one type of player I've never seen him as. Decent range of passing, plays well with those kind of players, but not often I can remember him playing passes the likes of Reid, Jensen, Di Canio or even Jonjo play.

We lost very few games after that. "
We didn't win many either! No way i she in the same league as Di Canio, Reid or Jensen! Di Canio!! Truly laughable that anyone would even think about comparing one of the greatest players to ever play in England to ZZ!
Randolph and Holland are no loss, we need Fortune to stay, ZZ going is a shame but he would have been on pretty high wages. Let's hope the cash freed from ZZ's wages are put to good use

That coincided with someone else getting a run in the team for a change too. But i would say that i'm biased. As for comparing him to di canio i cant stop laughing. That man was a genius and one of the best players i've ever seen play
no loss imo, very overrated. With all these players leaving and wages being freed up maybe we will sign someone someday soon. Another centre half would be nice. Oh and a striker please.

Who compared him to Di Canio?
I said he's NOT someone that plays defence splitting passes, Di Canio, Reid and Jensen all regularly. That was their game, it's not ZZ's though. Did anyone else mention Di Canio?
massive loss couldnt really see him staying to be honest but we have to move on hope holland stays lets hope with the so called long awaited take over brings good fortune with perhaps some positive new signings
which will help the side progress back to the championship

It was down to both of them, along with Sam getting confidence back, Racon returning and Bailey being moved to the left. They had each other to play with, midfielders that can set up and/or score goals.
Good luck to him, hope he finds a decent team to pick him. I liked him but didn't particularly rate him, comparing him to the rest of our squad last season he was one of our better midfielders and made a fair impact when he was fit.
Still look back and think if Racon and Zizi had been fit for the entire season would we have put up more of a fight to stay in the Championship.

Well, as you're anonymously quoting me, I'll respond.
I never mentioned any other player by name and only talking about his impact on the team after his return from injury.
Di Canio, Reid or Jensen ......? What have those players got to do with what I was saying.
We only lost 2 or 3 matches after ZZ's return, Wolves, Derby, I recall both very narrow defeats where we should have at least come home with a point.
But we got a good point away at Reading on his return, drew matches against teams like Birmingham, Preston, Coventry and matches we looked certain to win where late, late sloppy defending cost us the full points (Blackpool, Cardiff), plus a couple of good victories even though they were against desperate relegation haunted sides like ourselves.
That sounds like ZZ had a positive impact on the team. We saw JJ flourish, Sam rediscover his form, Bailey shunted out to the left wing to make room for ZZ and then scoring goals for fun - Christ, even Burton scored a hat trick!
Pity we couldn't defend at times - but overall we played well enough to have won more points in that time, as the above summary suggests.
If we'd had players like ZZ (and Racon, also a more experienced JJ) available all season, we might have had just enough not to get relegated.

I would have him on that list to, but at around no. 215.
Good luck ZZ, you gave us your all.

He might have done had his agent not got so greedy with West Brom. The money would have come in handy for us as well.

Am only gutted we didn't get a fee for him, as we could have paid off Parky with it!
that's fair.

Indeed, if we get Kaka in to replace him then fair enough, it's likely to be though that get to see more of the likes of Matt Spring.
If we now lose 2 or 3 of Bailey, Shelvey and Racon those people will realise just how good they were unless we get very lucky with replacements.
Coming down from the Prem showed us it's not often you replace players with better ones.

Yes overated by some under rated by others! I think he would fit in at Fulham personally!
