@Stig it is wrong to put the three Glickstens together as one. They are different people, acted differently towards the club and should be remembered differently.
There is a danger that very great contributions of the past are overshadowed by lesser (but still great) contributions that have happened more recently, as the more recent contributions are more likely to have been enjoyed by fans posting on this site.
just looked at this .. a terrific piece of work .. it is soooo difficult to decide on (say) three or four candidates let alone put seventeen into an order of preference
@SheffieldRed you're right, it is tough on the Glickstens lumping them all into one but I wanted to cut down the number on the list. As it is it seems that 17 is might be too many for a lot of people. I also reckon you're right about more recent people overshadowing the oldies. It's a bit like asking who's the greatest player.
Thanks @Linksaddick you're right it is tough. I spent a while on it and that's after I'd though it through whilst typing up the survey.
Early indications are that people rate Seed the highest over Curbs, The Founding Fathers, The Fans and Lennie Lawrence.
I'll post the full results later, but I'm hopeful that a few more people will have a go first.
Completed the survey. For me i made a distinction between most successful and most important, they are not the same thing. The owners are at the top end of my list purely because they determine the parameters for the managers and players.
Not exactly representative as there were only 24 respondents. It depends how you choose to interpret it too.
By the Average Ranking method Jimmy Seed (14.79) is the most important followed by Fans (13.17), Alan Curbishley (12.96), Founding fathers (12.25), Lennie Lawrence (11.75).
If you prefer to go on first place results only, then it's Fans (8), Jimmy Seed (4), Founding fathers (3), Richard Murray (2), The Glickstens (2).
