Charlton boss Phil Parkinson told the official website: "Therry has been taking part in pre-season training since the players returned, but has a slight knee strain. It's nothing serious and he'll travel to Ireland with squad."
They've made it quite clear that Raccon is going to play in Ireland though so I'd imagine it's more likely a genuine injury than stopping him get injured re a potential transfer ?
Moots is a mystere. Given that he said he wouldn't be playing for us this season and there's no announcement about him, does it mean that no offers have come in for him d'ye think?
I can see him barely playing throughout pre-season and sold cheaply/sent out on loan in the last few weeks of August. Just before the window closes.
Of course that could be different if he's given a half tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if he misses out and Solly plays one half then someone like Stavrinou plays out of position at right back.
[cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]no 4-4-2 as we dont have a defence!
Well we do. Just not League One standard as we'll be using several youngsters.
Two right backs in Yassin and Solly, three centre backs in Fortune, Llera, and Mambo and two left backs in Basey and Clark. Then there's Youga and Semedo who can play full back and centre back. Enough for two back fours, one for each half. Stavrinou might also play right back and Holland could play in defence, it says he's training at Colchester but we've still offered him a contract.
Will Parkinson ever play Yassin again though? I agree with suspending him, but surely he has to play him this year. I have been very impressed with Solly though. Speaking of 4-4-2, FourFourTwo magazine is worth a look this month. There's an article about young players being released by their clubs and it focuses upon Taylor Sinfield and the Goalkeepr, Chrisite we had. Sinfield was released for being "too lean" apparently. Very odd.

Probably not but I was saying we have defenders there if he wants to play them.
Yeah I saw that, was interesting. In the end though Sinfield wasn't first choice for the u18s or playing many games for the reserves, he probably just wasn't up to the standard.
Don't think Clark is any better than Long from what I've seen, perhaps he had a better attitude or because he was left footed had more chance of breaking through.
I think the starting line up is going to be the academy team as we still have 3 senior players who have not agreed terms and 3 midfield players who will not be wiyh us at the start of the season. So only left with the youngsters.

Yet we took on that fat lump Jack Clark....

Gray, Racon, Fortune, Sinclair, Semedo.
All gone then.
First rule of pre-season friendlies is that any player who doesn't appear has been or is about to be sold
Or are throwing a strop and are angling for a move.
Maicon, Sergio Ramos, Vidic, Dani Alves
Ronaldo, Gerrard, Ribery, Messi
Burton, Dickson.
Dont be ridiculous, Burton's out with a hamstring injury
Have we got that many players anymore?
Semedo is, I mentioned him by mistake. Or at least the OS says he is now fit and should feature.
Other four won't though. Good opportunity for the likes of Mambo, Starvinou etc.
Only because Wagstaff, Stavrinou, Clark, Mambo, Solly etc. are all part of the 22 that will play.
There could be a few trialists I guess, but there's not even been any hints about that.
Maybe also Henry's prospect from the Ivory Coast, I forget his name?
