This is why we needed punk and 1977
It's all subjective to me, there's a place for everything.
Poor old Donovan. I mean he did also write "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and that is a real rock belter even if the lyrics are more obtuse than a Pardew interview.
Anyway, back to the topic. I agree with Henry. The fact that Shelvey, Bailey and Racon all appeared on Tuesday is very good news. There has obviously been serious interest in them, which has been resisted so far. Now we're at the stage where their transfer value starts to fall, as it gets nearer to deadline day. So that tells me that this current Board does not just want to cash in and eff off. We know that there are talks going on. Neither side has said they are off. If they were off, one of the parties would have said so. Especially Peter Varney.
It is bloody excruciating, but that team line up on Tuesday gave me renewed hope that something will still happen.

Good job I don't know that it was sung by Donovan .......can't remember who though, exactly.
A leap from the wings in defence of the oft maligned Donovan.
Firstly the lyrics of There is a Mountain were based, I believe,on some Karmic jiggery pokery that the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was spouting in Rishikesh so I'm blaming the Yogi.
(PS Henry - I'm sure it's "Look upon my Garden gate " and "Anita I call your name")
Second, Donovan's two albums from 1965 "Sunshine Superman" and "Mellow Yellow" were a groundbreaking mix of Psychedelic folk and jazz that totally belied his poor-mans-Dylan image.
Unfortunately, legal problems delayed the release of the single and albums in the UK for over a year, so that when they came out they didn't compare well in that ever evolving musical time. In America he was feted, but over here he was ridiculed.
Unfortunately for Don, when he opens his mouth to speak he invariably makes himself sound like the twat that everyone thinks he is.
Anyway, bit off topic I know so... errr, bollocks to the takeover
I heard at the end of last week from the buyers that it had all fallen through (yeah yeah I know, sorry) but given that it's obviously continuing I think that must have been last minute brinksmanship.
Good news in the next few days I would have thought given what I've heard.
Just that it was all dead last week and the buyers were walking away... and now obviously they haven't... and that other stuff on the grapevine suggests the deal has finally been agreed.
So from what I've heard it sounds like it's *finally* a pretty much done deal. Although of course I'm a new poster on here and this is all speculation so I don't expect anyone to listen to me, but I'm excited about the news that will be coming out in the first half of next week (if not before the weekend!)
And yes that's right it's a friend of a friend's girlfriend's brother's dog's sister's mother's hairdresser's bookie. Or maybe someone a lot closer to the deal than that....

Yeah, but first there is a mountain, and then there is not.
It's always Mañana
yes indeed.
Everyone, I have no idea what is happening but everyone wants to have an answer so I gave one.
Gut feeling is that as Bailey and Shelvey are still not sold then any deal is still a real possibility. .
Exactly
Great song though
So Friday 30th is the day then. Got it.

I'd say that there is no word such as "turnt".
Yipee ... I think and can you get your cheque books out and stop all this fannying about
