Kazakhstan v England

edited June 2009 in General Charlton
Green; Johnson, Terry, Upson, A Cole; Walcott, Barry, Lampard, Gerrard; Rooney, Heskey.

18 mins in and England in disarray. Should have conceded after 19 seconds. Barry yellow card means he's out on Wednesday. Kazakhstan just scored but disallowed for offside - Terrible goalkeeping by Green. Home side dominating.

  • Aint it on TV?
  • is borat playing for them.
  • On Setanta for those who have it. I'm listening to it on bbc sport online.
  • Sounds like England's defending is Mark Hudson quality :)
  • Been a pretty poor game so far.
  • Harsh but true, we're all over the place. Passes going astray, haven't heard Gerrard or Lampard's names even being mentioned. Heskey just hit the post with a shot.
  • 1-0 England!
  • 1-0 to England...Barry with a header.
  • We've been toilet, very, very lucky to be leading....

I don't think I've ever heard such a bad half from an England football team. I cannot believe we're two up! Basically what VFR said!
  • Wright-Phillips on for Walcott at the start of the second half.
  • England are so boring to watch can't remember last time they played really well bar croatia
  • 3-0 to England.
  • ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEY!

    Running away with it now...
  • A strange match spankie. A win is a win at the end of the day.
  • Too true and 4-0 isn't too shabby...
  • 1st England match I've ever lost interest in........
  • [cite]Posted By: Miserableold-ish git[/cite]1st England match I've ever lost interest in........

i had no interest to start with... completely forgot it was happening
  • was talking about england earlier and said the big difference with England under Fabio is that we can play bad and get results which is something all the best teams in the world are capable of including the likes of Brazil. If anyone thinks for one minute that those other nations play well in every match they are kidding themselves , it's the ability to grind out results which at the end of the day win qualification .

Amen to that.Like the bloke.Really think Capello has the credentials to get us close to winning something in the next few years.
  • Had 4-0 England @ 9s. Lovely.

    Like under Sven then?

I thought it was a turgid game but expected that anyway, a 4-0 was a compete bonus. Rooneys goal was top drawer as was Barrys (although he had one to forget) Lampard covered a hell of a lot of ground and I was shocked by how pacey some of the Kazakh players were as I think was Glenn Johnson.

Well happy all in all. Considering we could of conceded at least 2 I think today Capello will put a few fleas in a few ears and it can be put down to a good out of season performance
  • Yeah - Johnson had a poor game. Shame really, as he has been one of England's best performers in the past few matches. That left winger they had was pretty good - Nussurbayev I think his name was - he had Johnson on toast for most of the first half.

I've got the company tickets for the Andorra game so will be taking my nephew (provided that spanner Crow and his muppets let the tubes run)
