if as a few people are saying young is off, if think sell him in jan get 2-3 mill and get mills from city for next to nothing, i say this as the money we have left is clearly needed for a new striker holding mid and prob another creative mid.
also some on netaddicks sayinh heard vassell is on his way, i know we have been linked with him under curbs, i feel it his going to be quite hard getting players to join as in jan.
ship out 3-4 of the underperforming high earners.
bring in a series of loans, possibly overseas to replace.
I say overseas as they will not be so ingrained to how bad things have been, and will be realistic in performing to put themselves in a shop window.
If it does not work out, we would already of freed up some of the wage bill, without being tied to long-term contracts. If any of the loans work out well, they may like what the see and want to stay.
But we should already be keeping one eye on the summer situation if the worst happens.
We are down ............... for sure ship out the underperforming high earners but only two loans are allowed and we already have Carson. I think we should be looking to get in a couple of players who will do a good job for us in the Championship.
agreed, we need to get players in jan and gel them in now so we don't waste the first couple of games in the championship getting a whole new team used to each other.
think we should be looking at players like mills, he has been told he is not needed at city is still prem class and will be preperd to come in jan give it a go fighting in the prem and stay on for the promotion push next year.
I'm hoping Walton isnt held back, thrown straight into the thick of things and starts kicking a few people around (including our players if they need it)
[cite]Posted By: WestStandSinger[/cite]i dont think thats the reason i don't like him though then. if it is then it shows how much my attitude to the current crop of players has changed.
I really wouldnt be bothered if any of them got up and left
At the time though we were desperate to keep the squad together so we could bounce back. He was the only one that didn't want to know.
i was only 16 when we went down but i don't seem to remember mills making a move for himself or refusing to play ala parker, i think we got a better deal with 4 million, like i said i may be wrong as was a bit younger.

You're right really. The thing was though Curbs plucked Mills from Norwich reserves just a few months before so I think the perception was he owed us one rather than just bu**ering off.
As it happens though it worked out for the best his leaving.
Mills leaving meant that another player didn't have to get sold to compensate for lower TV revenues etc. Had Mills stayed would we have kept Kinsella, Youds, Mendonca, Hunt etc? I reckon one of them would have gone, if so better to sell Mills, especially as his replacement Greg Shields was considerably cheaper.
If I remember correctly, the thing with Mills was his agent coming out and saying that he'd need to move on to a new club in the summer, on the morning of the Villa game, which we needed to win to have any hope of staying up. If he'd done it after we were down, that was another thing entirely, but just before a crucial game was taking the mick.
I have no problem with Mills and would welcome him back should Young go.
I thought he was class for us and never regretted him wanting a move (after all Kinsella would have gome if not Mills).
He gave his all for us - I just wish some of the current crop would do the same.
I also had a couple of quid on him scoring on his debut at Crewe at 40-1 so as he paid for my trip to Gresty Road, I can't find it in me to dislike him.
[cite]Posted By: stanmoreaddick[/cite]I'm not disagreeing Ali,
But what a goal!
Oh yes. But my favourite thing about that game is Steve Brown going in goal. The Villa players obviously assumed that it'd be easy because he wasn't a proper keeper, and took potshots as and when they felt like it, but he just kept making the saves.

I don't know why but i despise him with a passion

I think the poison scouse dwarf filled our Luke's head with delusions of grandeur!
