Bailey on his future...

  • The clever player just goes round telling all and sundry that he owes it to his relegated club to do the best he can, that he feels partly responsible for the team failure and that' he's going to bust a gut next season to get promotion, they're a great bunch of lads, with a great spirit.

The only way he'll leave, is if the club need to sell him to survive, but he'll (between sobs) sacrifice himself for the cause if he's forced to go.

    Behind the scenes:
The club needs the dosh, half his mates have been told they'll be leaving anyway, the manager's a moron, and he knows the fans will boo him for the first mistake he makes.

So he tells his agent to find him another club and does a deal with his existing club, that they can flog him if the money's right for them both, and on condition the fans are told that he was reluctantly sold only to meet the wage bill that week.

And, no doubt, that's exactly what will happen anyway.
