[cite]Posted By: Maglor[/cite]I think the club made a mistake with the £5 charge - should have added it to the S/T price and there would not have been this upset - reduce S/T by £45 not £50 and we would have been none the wiser. Would the difference have made any difference?
I would get bent out of shape if Tescos pulled this but I am not getting upset about this - the money goes to my club - in the greater scheme of things don't we have more to worry about as individuals and as a club?
If it is a problem - pay by debit card.
Or online or by cheque. I think it should be possible for Lifers to have the nouse to pay online :-)
Renewed our 2 in East Stand, Block E before the Blackpool game plus have the spare seat next to us for Grandson Billy - may not come to many matches but too good an opportunity to miss at £49. Can always upgrade for an adult too.
Have also enrolled Billy, Pippa & Louis ( sounds like the Waltons !!) in the new Junior Addicks scheme so trying to do our bit without crippling our finances.
As mouldy oldies, we haven't saved as much on next season's tickets as most , but don't smoke, drink( well, just a few white wines, BDL ! ) or gamble so have to retain a few pleasures in our twilight years !
Have renewed mine and have also done valley gold this year for the first time to show support for the youth. Apart from doing my bit for the youth and being entered into the draw does anyone know of any other benifits of valley gold.

priority on away tickets. Might make you popular when we are playing away at grounds with 600 places in the away end.
Just done my 3 over the phone. I asked the lady how many sold so far and she said 1,500.
!!!! Yes, that's what I thought too! I asked her to repeat herself, she still said fifteen hundred. If you were being optimistic and taking into account all the kids maybe you can say that is at an average of £250 a ticket. That's £375K. Not a lot is it? And using £250 as an average price is extremley generous.
All those thinking of re-newing, please do it soon.
I want to renew but still haven't received my form - I've phoned the ticket office again to be told to wait and see what today's post will bring - can't renew online as I need to do the installment thingy.
So frustrating, I want to give them money but they don't seem to want it!

Well I just did it over the phone. Very quick and easy. You don't need a form or anything.

AFKA - don't we need it sorted well before August so we have some sort of budget for the pre-season ? I still don't know why they didn't offer some sort of incentive for early renewal.
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]i heard between 1,000 - 2,000 so far, so that figure is in line.
Its irrelevent anyway. What matters is what they are in August, not now.
I tend to disagree there, we need as much money as possible now. This time last year we had probably gathered up about 4 or 5 million pounds. I really believe if you can do it, do it now.

The earlier people renew the better for the club but maybe the club thought that setting a deadline for a lower price might be a disincentive to renew.
People are pee'd off as it is. If they miss the early deadline they might say "well, the price has just gone up, I'm definitely not renewing now." Just a thought.
I've renewed my two but need to prove my dad is disabled to get his one.

Oh i fully understand the logic, but with no discount incentive and a holiday to pay for, its now down on my personal list of priorities of things i have to find money for.
Had there been some form of discount incentive and deadline, i would have somehow found the money for it though.
If the club were desperate for an injection of money as quickly as possible in order to prepare for next season and the only source for that money was season ticket sales there would be a significant incentive for people to renew as soon as possible. My take is that takeover talks have being taking place for a few weeks now which will lead to a reasonably large injection of funds (not massive, 10 or 12 million). Also, I guess the group or its advisors have also stipulated that the redundancies required to reduce the cost base to the required/agreed level to facilitate the takeover (or cash injection) should be made by the current board before the new investors are announced.
This is all pure conjecture. But I just cannot understand why there is no incentive to generate cash from early season ticket renewals unless they have a source of cash already lined up.

The sales of the training ground, Landsdowne mews and the loan from Chappell would all be a source of working capital for the summer and beyond.

If it is, we're fecked.
Also how much is it to join Valley Gold?
Why would a box-office telephonist know or have authority to give an accurate figure on renewals?

None of my family have done ours yet.

The odds on Charlton not losing against Norwich were too good, so that's paid for the season ticket!
