I hav mentioned this bloke on a few threads and truely believe he is the kind of goalscorer we need, and IMO could easily prove himself in L1 and really could have probably managed the CC. I think if we have the money in the summer following the departures of the likes of ZZ and Ambrose we should really be looking at someone like Simeon. If you look at Wiki it even mentions Villa being interested in buying him for 1 million following his great performance in the FA cup although I don't think he is quite Villa standard but could really excel at Charlton.
Let's face it, with the level we'll be at next season and with the money we'll have available (not much) he's exactly the sort of striker we should be looking for. We aren't going to afford any better than a league two or conference striker.
Another player i'd like us to go for is Steve Morison at Stevenage. He's been amongst the non league top scorers for at least 3 years now and Crewe and Millwall were interested in him. I read somewhere that he wants to leave and if Stevenage don't go up they will let him leave for a league club. Could be worth a gamble.
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]getting a striker who can score goals should be our No 1 priority this summer, player wise.
Dicko and Izale will score at that level.
Too similar to play together i think. Need a target man to play alongside one of them. Leicester have Steve Howard, Leeds have Becchio, Millwall have Alexander.
From what I have seen of him recently I wonder if Fleetwood would be good enough, although Jackson and Burton would be a good L1 pairing IMO, don't believe in Dicko and Izale will be a good benchwarmer for me.
Can't really question his form at the pikeys though. Think he needs a chance next season, clearly wasnt up to it this year, then again, baring Elliot and Bailey, who was...
We don't have £600K now (hence selling off some of our assets), we certainly wont in League1. We will need to hope Parky digs up a 'Iwelumo' on a free from somewhere like he did before. Would rather keep our better players than sell one or 2 to raise cash to take agamble on someone who may end up a pile of shite.
Jackson is McCleod in sheeps clothing, played well on the box against Villa and Gillingham have a history of playing to their forwards strengths, told by the forwards they have had run through a seemingly endless line, Fortune-West, Asaba, Taylor, Akinbiyi. They leave and go to a decent club who don't play through them they get found out.

From looking at the way he plays, he could potentially be a very good player in the right team. But the problem is this- he is very short and only slightly built so he goes to ground quite easily, and seems to wait for a pinch-perfect pass from midfield and tries to run with the ball. He seems like the sort of player that will only shoot from near-range. Clearly, he tries to imitate Thierry Henry and whilst that's no bad thing he can only suit a team that will play attacking, passing football.
And it's for this reason Gillingham don't play to his strengths because they are hardly a sophisticated outfit and I don't think he will embellish his performances there. But it will ultimately depend on the way we play next year to see if he benefits us, and even then, we all know Total Voetbal is by no means a guarantee of success where teams will play thuggish, direct football so it could be a disaster all around- especially at a cost of £600,000.
It's a shame because if he was in a premiership or continental side he would have almost certainly impress. Am I right in thinking that he came through the Man U youth set-up?

£600K seems a lot though in our straitened circumstances and would almost certainly mean one or more of our better players being sold.
I accept that will probably happen anyway.
Not unless we swap him for Jonjo.
;o)
2008– Gillingham played 55 (scored21)
(also played at dulwich so may partner Dicko well!)
When did Rushden get relegated to the Conference?
In other words were those goals Conference or football league goals?
I think Izale will get 15-20 next year.
Conference goals. This is his first year in league football.
"Johnjo" Shelvey.
Not worth £600k then, unless your name is Pardoo.
i'd say maybe 400k
Impressed by attitude, determination, strength and simple 'get in the box and shoot' strategy.
We're missing that.

I'd be interested to know how many penalties are in both Simeon's and Charlie's totals.

What we have is better trust me on at least that
