I think McCarthey was having a rant at Hudson, and Parky stepped in, remember something like that being said by commentator, but i wasn't there so not 100%
What I hav heard him say in interviews shows he cares about the club, if only results could match. If I was Murray give him till Christmas 09, if(I doubt) we r in the drop zone by December get rid, but I trust Parky to build a squad next season and finish mid table and give 2010-2011 a good promotion bid.
Parky seems a decent enough guy. and if he wasn't managing Charlton I would probably like the guy. As Dazzler 21 says he shows passion, however showing passion is not enough. Parky is useless, he is without doubt the worst manager in the 104 year history of the club. His is way out of his depth and totally incompetent. He should have been shown the door months ago, if he had maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

[cite]Posted By: Billericay Dickie[/cite]How about his record as manager.
Played 20, Won 2, Drawn 6 and Lost 12.
with no consideration for the time in the season or the position the team were in when he took over the team?
on paper, you can make anyone look good or bad to your own agenda. I don't think there are many managers (that we could afford) that could have done any better with our confidence, our team, our tactics at that time of the season.
[cite]Posted By: Billericay Dickie[/cite]Other teams in far worst positions than us at the time of his appointment, made management changes and have turned their seasons around.
If we had appointed a compatant manager I am sure that at least we would still have a realistic chance of survival.
how do you know that a manager will be competant until he's had a go? who would you suggest? hindsight is a wonderful thing. no one can guess if anyone would have done better or worse.

AFKABartram, the difference between Parkinson and Paul Jewell is that Paul Jewell has at least managed succesfully at the highest level.
Parkinson however was sacked from Hull City with an equally absymal record. Apart from getting Colchester promoted from Div 1 he has proved that he is out of his depth at Championship level.
The fact is you can't argue with the facts and Parky's facts are unbelievably bad - played 20, won 2!!!!
Regardless of confidence, team he inherited and all that guff, his reign has been characterised by incompetence and tactical blunders.
For me the three main ones have been: 1. Not bringing in adequate centre-back cover during December and January leaving us having to play Holland there at Bristol and Wolves. 2. Not giving Dickson a chance until late January rather than in early December. 3. Playing Bailey on the left of midfield not the centre.

well luckily for us that's where we're going.....
but i can remember the same stuff about give pardew a chance he got west ham up and did well with reading ...blah blah blah
it's what they do at charlton that matters and nice bloke wrong job parky hasn't shown anything in his 2 years plus at charlton

The problem for me is that we are going down the pan with a team that should be much higher in the league, as recent efforts against Wolves & Reading are showing.
suzisausage As I have said Parkinson's record is appaling. Richard Murray should have considered his time at Hull City when he appointed him, To keep him as manager when we continued to slip down the league was appaling. At lease most new managers make some sort of impact when they first take over. Parkinsons impact was to take us down the table faster than Pardew had.

fortune injured semedo injured - so got ward in ward as only option holland only played due to loan agreement between us and wolves no? he can't help players getting injured except for getting holy healing hands. perhaps players we wanted weren't available at the time, or were too expensive.
bailey playing on the left seems to be working out ok - how many goals has he scored recently? racon seems to be holding up ok in midfield and zz seems to have injected some class about our midfield.
dickson isn't the saviour people are talking about, whether that be cos he's not good enough or whatever. he seems to put in 110% effort but doesn't seem to have the knowledge to be a good striker right now, and i bet the staff know that hence why he's not playing every week.
any manager makes tactical errors, curbs used to make random subs too late in a game that left us struggling and lost us points. i'm not saying hes awesome, but i just thought it completely ott to say that he's the worst manager in 104 years.
God people we go over the same ground time and time again. Going over this now is going to make no difference, he is not gonna go before the end of the season and finances dictate that he may not even go at the end. We are dire we are going down lets just live with this. its not anyone in particulars fault we have underachieved AS A CLub for 2 seasons now.
Let the season end go off have a break a see where we stand. Keep going over the same stuff is going to drive us all mad and we all at the end of the day want the same thing 3 points.
The former Addicks assistant’s long-term future is unclear - the contract he agreed when taking over from Alan Pardew in December expires in the summer.
But his experience of life in League One, where he steered unfancied Colchester to promotion in his first managerial role, could see him handed a new deal.
Parkinson, though, is remaining tight-lipped about his future. “I’m manager until the end of the season and I don’t want to talk too much about my position beyond that,” he said. “I’m just concentrating on doing my job with the resources I have available.”

LOL he's a decent guy but........................
really? why?
Played 20, Won 2, Drawn 6 and Lost 12.
ok but he might have been a good coach under pardew??

However, the wider football world would probably agree he is a better manager than what his record there has proved.
If we had appointed a compatant manager I am sure that at least we would still have a realistic chance of survival.

Perhaps it's just the team that are not ... ?
;o)
