[cite]Posted By: Imissthepeanutman[/cite]ZZ and Ambrose are only in my 16 to see if we can get them in the shop window as we need to offload.
Their contracts are up in the summer, and I doubt anyone will take them on loan now. So they should only be in the 16 when needed and if they deserve to be.

[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Ward is a loanee. And Candle ;o)
Sorry, didn't read your post properly - missed the 'other loanees' bit.
Soz.
Oops we crossed. You get my gist Oggy I am not anti loanee just dont see the point now in some of them.
Cheers, Peanuts. Got to agree with you though, you can't be building a team around loanees - here today, gone tomorrow.
In my mind, you recruit loanees for 2 reasons:
1) To plug a hole in an emergency, through injury etc you need cover for a specialist position, eg Ward at CB
- or Murty, because he offers qualities that can improve the team on the park AND in the dressing room.
2) You go shopping for a reasonably quality player who is outside your price range. He'll be languishing in someone's reserve team, has already proven himself elsewhere - and is desperate to play. You only ever sign him on a longterm loan, preferably for the whole season - so he becomes in effect a permanant player in your squad that year.
What you don't do, is rip the heart out of your team, leaving the whole thing in a state of flux and disarray - and demoralise and dis-enfranchise your contract players.
[cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]Dickson was shocking on Tuesday, anyone else who had put that performance in would have been slaughtered.
What is wrong with you? You seem to defend the most appalling performances, but Dickson slips up and the knives are right out. He was deployed in a completely inappropriate formation with predictable results, as I suspect you realise. I'm not saying he wasn't poor. But Toddy lacked the legs or fitness (Super, agree with most of what you say, but not fair to claim that he couldn't be arsed) to make any impact. Punishing Dickson for being unable to operate up front on his own punished us.
ignoring how he played Tuesday when you are playing another must win game where you need to win you don't go into it with ONE striker on the bench and an unfit one at that. If Burton or Kandol had got an early knock Toddy could never have played even 60 minutes and we'd have finished with one striker on the pitch in a must win game. If Dicko was say ill or injured then Fleets should have been on the bench too. Another example of Parky's ineptitude.

Thanks Sco. That was a stupid error.

no pLAYERS NO MONEY !
Apart from Forkhandles two well taken goals I'm struggling to remember any more attempts. Oh Bailey's header across goal.
On Tuesday Shelvey had three shots I can remember as did Dicko plus the header he should have buried.
There may have been more I've forgotten and that is when they are both playing below par or badly.
