It really will be a case of starting from scratch for us next season so who knows what to expect. My hunch is mid table mediocity which for my money is so so sad.
and there lies my quandry i dont want to create divisions i want us all to unite but by that i mean club, players, fans but I have a mistrust for the right decisions to be made by those in control and surely we can not move forward until that trust gets rebuilt.
I honestly think that they know deep down that we wont rebel and that gives them an escape clause as such.
They will lose they own money and that will hurt as much as anyone would feel a loss of investment but they were in control of that investment, but i am royally pissed with them and i want them to know that
but i dont think it is just me who wants them to know that
i know mate it is a fecking shambles but we knew this weeks ago effing bloody annoying though i grant you, i just wish i knew the answer to the problems and what we can do about it , it doesnt sit well with me to let this decline just pass over head without being vocal to the board but what and when and where i dont know
NLA, respect your passion but think it's misdirected.
If you want to start direct action then go for it. Chain yourself to the Bartram statue, make a banner, ring up the radio and TV stations, announce at march from Woolwich to the Valley before a game. If you feel that strongly then get the ball rolling, be the guy in General Gordon Square with the banner waiting for the others to show up before the march. Go for it, I'll salute you for doing it and respect you for doing not just talking.
[cite]Posted By: Red_Pete[/cite]How can it be that FOUR well respected managers (well, at the time they were appointed anyway) in Dowie, Reed, Pardew & Parkinsella have ALL failed so spectacularly? There can be no guarantees that the fifth manager in this sorry sequence is going to fare any better.
The real problem is that Curbs over-achieved so spectacularly, over so many years, that it was bound to fall apart once he left. Expectations of board & supporters alike were set far too high & money was thrown at new players in the hope that we could survive in the Premiership. Sadly, we are still feeling the implications of the financial meltdown that then occured when we inevitably got relegated. Our only hope now is to go down to Division 1 & rebuild again from the bottom up. Reduced expectations from everybody will help in this rebuilding exercise.
Of course mistakes have been made, but we are judging most of these with the benefit of hindsight. The board KNOW how we, as fans, feel. They are all supporters and they will feel it even worse, because they have individually lost millions of pounds. I just don't think that, in the unique circumstances we have at Charlton, protesting to the board will have any positive impact whatsoever. Just my opinion, of course.
This is the best post I have read on our fall from the top table. I wish I'd written it.

As regards the original post, I heard this bloke and had I not been on the A2 at the time, I was minded to ring up and challenge that total load of tosh.

therein lies the problem. Most fans are very ill-informed.

I'd pay to see you chained to the Bartram Statue!
That'd be the best entertainment at The Valley all year.
NLA said - "We need to show them that we wont accept being lied to"
where have they lied? im intrigued on this one as you have claimed it a few times. And you're banging on about wanting to let the board know you wont stand for this etc - quite a few board members read this so you dont worry you're getting heard. sadly.

Other than Peacock, Curtis and Warman virtually all the others left and we started from scratch.
Took us 3 seasons to get back.
