[cite]Posted By: adamtheaddick[/cite]i wanted to get it off my chest, and having this site has helped.I hope its what it was built for to say things that we feel. We all have our own views and agendas, i just want us not to be 'Doomed' charlton any more as seems to be our new name in the media. This site is called an independant charlton supporters site, i have and will always be an addick from my first game against liverpool at selhurst to last night im a charlton supporter always will be always will. I dont want anyone to get the arse with what i wrote it was my views and i wanted to get it of my chest, if we cant even have open debates on here then christ were in even mpre trouble..
Of course you can. You just did !
But equally on an open, independent forum, you have to expect that if people disagree with you, they have the right to tell you why. The hope is that we can have these sort of debates without it getting personal.
I knew i shouldn't have let you out of the Picture Department :-)
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]uggest ideas, a way forward, things that realistically get us pointing in the right direction again.
[cite]Posted By: adamtheaddick[/cite]I would call for you now to send back all the loaness, put every player up for sale who is not commited for what will be an even bigger battle next season in league one, and insist that parky only plays our youngsters give them 10 games to get used to the hustle and bustle of league football. I would rather see us lose all the remaing games of the season with Charlton players than hired help and has beens.
So what if the loan players want to stay next season? What if they are committed? Who says they are less committed than Joss Wright who refused to sit on the bench.
What if the young players don't want to know (Moo2)
And you wouldn't complain once if we lost all season. Get real.
And even if we did that leaves us where? A demoralised squad, less chance of attracting new players, good loan players who might have joined frozen out, young kids thrown in too early.
Sure give Solly and Clarke and others a run out but why such silly sweeping generalisations and knee jerk reactions. maybe Solly and Clarke will learn more alongside Ward than alongside Mambo. just a thought.
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]Sorry but you can't have it both ways. You want an open debate well that means you say something and other people might disagree and say why.
No one said you couldn't say it. Admin haven't deleted or sunk it. People have just disagreed.
What you seem to mean by open debate is I can say what I like and no one is allowed to disagree or pull my weak argument apart
Ben, mate i agree with you totally, everyone is allowed there view that was mine. I may not have been a supporter as long as some of you guys, i missed the days of div 3 football and the hand out of leafets against stoke at the valley, my first game was at selhurst ffs. agree or disagree to waht i said truth is were f**ked.. i will suport charlton even if they were a pub team, just this has been building up for so long i had to get it out there or i would have exploded, its not an attack or assult on anyone just what i thought, call me stupid call me thick call me whatever you want, it was my personal view maybe i should have kept it to myself..

No, you were right to post it. It was your personal view. I and others disagreed. No big deal.
No one is denying that we are in a mess - financially and operationally, so no one is in denial. It helps to get your facts straight and not perpetuate myths. There is bad blood between Richard Murray and SJ...but he didn't invite him out for a fight or anything similar, from what I recall he made an off the cuff remark that has ballooned out of proportion and has been misrepresented. Neither did we sign Dowie to put one over on SJ. I don't recall any better candidates being touted and Jose Mourinho and Ferguson didn't seem interested.
At a time like this if you want to rant/vent then fine...but an accurate diagnosis is what is required not the mangling of myths.
[cite]Posted By: Chris_from_Sidcup[/cite]I probably stand alone on this, but although he made some terrible signings (Traore and Faye being 2 of them), i actually don't think we'd be in this position if we'd kept Dowie as manager. His records for Coventry and QPR in this league weren't that bad, he just upsets too many people along the way.
you are not alone(i think michael jackson used these words)
i mean he got us to the 1/4 finals of the league cup but for uncle les's magic who knows!!
Henry: Josh Wright refused to sit on the bench, did he?
Thought he stomped out, once, a long while back because he didn't want to travel with the squad when he specifically was not going to sit on the bench. Maybe my memory fails me?

It was reported on here, although never confirmed or denied by the club as far as I remember, that he was due to be on the bench for the cup game at Sheffield Utd at the end of January. He refused to be sub and Jack Clark was on the bench instead.
Not that I buy it of course (no honest I don't!!) but I was flicking through my girlfriends copy of OK or Hello mag and noticed that Josh Wright was in the wedding pictures of jade goody and Jack twat. Said he is a friend of the little mug. Dissapointed in you young Josh if that is the case!!!!
I tend to agree with adam about the loanees. I don`t have a problem with their committment they try just as hard as anyone else but I would send them back now we are certainly relegated. Next season we need to hit the ground running with as settled a side as will allow bearing in mind departures and arrivals. I would prefer to see the players that the management team think will be with us next season given games ahead of results at this stage.
i think he has a premiership ego with blue square league tact.. he would have played 30 plus games this year if he was up to it no doubt, he and Arter were the 'new hopes' few years back now look, the players with the right attidude are making there mark, Basey, Shelvey etc, having the 'flair' and celeb mates dont make you a star.
[cite]Posted By: Mortimerician[/cite]You're right about Sheff U. Not sure we are being fair saying he has a poor attitude not being in full possession of the facts.
That's a fair point. Not saying he has a poor attitude full stop but he showed poor attitude in that case, IF it is true.
The point was that contracted player or loan player makes no difference to their commitment.
Some loans like Murty, Saares, Kandol and Ward have been committed from what I can tell in the stands. Others like Cook have not. Some loans have been committed but not very good or just unlucky with injuries like McEverly
Some contracted players have shown poor attitude and I include Moo2 in that. Wright perhaps or perhaps not.
Wright was apparently told by Parkinson he was starting the Sheff Utd cup game all week. This seemed to be true because the OS were talking about him playing earlier in the week.
Then (again apparently) he was told he was only on the bench. He refused to travel just to be on the bench, so Jack Clark made up the numbers.
His contracts up in the summer, it'll be interesting to see if he's still here.
I want to see him come through, but if any of this is true it's really not going to help him. At the Brighton reserve game I felt he played ok but needs to do that bit more to get in the team.
[cite]Posted By: Imissthepeanutman[/cite]My message for Richard Murray and fellow directors is a big thank you.
Yup, and thank god we have people in charge with that level of personal commitment and integrity.
I posted a message on the "pink oboe" list, in response to a well known poster on there who blames Murray and the Board for everything including the Kennedy Assination
"I suggest, when the notes have been agreed and published, you have a read of the Fans Forum ones regarding the latest meeting at Fans Forum
That might give you a different perspective on what Messers Murray, Chappell and co think. The forum members that I have spoken to were very impressed with their love for the club and how keen they are for things to be turned around, and their continuing financial commitment and support. They are also hurting big time, but the difference between you and I and them is that they have sunk millions of pounds of their families inheritance into the club for which probably they will see little or no return. I really think you should bear this in mind when you slag them off and accuse them of all manner of things. I understand your passion and your anger, but those you attack deserve more respect than you afford them in my opinion".
For me that sums up my feelings towards the Board in general and RM in particular. It will be a very sad day indeed if he decided that he'd had enough. I hope we can send a message to him that whilst we all accept, especially with hindsight, that there have been mistakes and as stakeholders we need some reassurance that the Board is doing all it can to restore the club to better times, we maintain our support and solidarity with him and his fellow Directors.

Well said Bing and I think Rothko will have said something very similar to Richard and the others at the Fans Forum meeting.
I agree with your point that nothing has gone right since Curbs left which shows how much we owed to him and what a brilliant manager he is. I still can't believe that people were still posting until recently that they were glad he went and would not want him back. The point being be careful what you wish for......
2 things, didn't souness sign faye? And get off josh wrights case he's a tidy player and I feel has been really unfortunate not to play more, for him to be frustrated is understandable

Though fair play to adam for sticking to his guns, not getting too wound up and posting yet more quality images.
we have all freaked out..
I freaked out about 3 months ago and had the same response from most...
It the way it is....
bring on League one...
one day we will all be on here going "we have finally turned the corner"
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow..... etc
