Astronomical wages for O' Hara, otherwise would be a good signing.
  • Options
Think with his injury record and the fact that his club has just been relegated, he would certainly drop his wage demand. I would imagine he would still want 20k+ tho!
  • Options
Money would mean he's not an option anyway, but I read (admittedly on Twitter) that along with Roger Johnson, O'Hara was one of the reasons why there was a divide in the Wolves dressing room. Doesn't seem like one Powell would be interested in anyway.

Or we offer to take him on loan and pay a fraction of his wages. Wolves might be keen to move him on regardless.

Henderson has already signed for Millwall

Has he? His aunt told me last week he'd trained with Millwall but was holding out as he was hoping Charlton came in for him. Might be wrong though. Will try and find out tomorrow.
Got quite a good source at Millwall, said he'd signed. Might be a chance he was wrong though

Rumours going around that Kenny Jackett has resigned.

Couldn't see any threads about on here though.

What do we think of O'Hara? Couple of years back he would have been a great signing, injuries haven't helped and nor has Wolves downfall but there is still a decent player there if managed correctly

This is the same O'Hara who mugged off the Wolves fans when they dared to tell him that a player on 40k a week taking a team down twice in two years isn't good enough. I'm not a big fan of giving the players stick but with the dross they've served up this season he shouldn't be giving it back. Don't fancy a player like him at our team. Smacks too much of the Pardew years, buying a reputation instead of a player who'll bleed for the shirt

GM .. you have hit the O'Hara nail right on the head .. a big head who somehow a lot of people rate but has done absolutely nothing so far to justify all the publicity .. he talks a good game .. in a word .. no thanks (that's 2 words)

Met him in a club a few years back... Billy big bollocks.

From the match report vs Brighton... "Jamie O'Hara, constantly reminded by the Wolves supporters of his reputed £40,000 a week wages and booed by his own fans every time he touched the ball, has surely played his last game for the club. The former Spurs midfielder gestured in return and, when his team-mates shuffled awkwardly over to applaud the fans at the end of the game which sealed their relegation to League 1, marched down the tunnel without a backward glance"

    No thanks.

For me, signing O'Hara would be like signing a vastly more expensive version of Stephens. O'Hara is a more dynamic player but is another one who is generally a bit mediocre apart from the odd flash of talent.

100% not what we're looking for imo.

Regardless of his footballing ability, he simply does not seem like a 'Powell' player with his personality, commitment etc, let alone his ridiculous wages. Anyone in any doubt of Wolves' fans view of him take a look at this thread... http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=81201

O'Hara no. Unless we can get his missus along to the POTY awards - then it's two big curvy yesses.

Are these the same wolves fans that people were consistently slating and calling scummy only a couple of weeks ago?

Agree that O'Hara isn't a CP type player but lets not take wolves fans views as concrete evidence of what he's done there. I'm sure there are a lot of players that have let the fans down more with shite performances but O'Hara is the easiest to stick it on because he's earning PL wages.

From what I've seen of him, he's a talent. He was playing well in the Prem not too long ago and peope were confused as to why he wasn't still at Spurs. A couple of bad injurys have affected him but with a club that's on the up rather than down he could be a useful addiction.

Can't see him in a charlton shirt tho, due to money and he's not a CP type signing.

Ipswich have confirmed that they have released keeper aaron lee barrett, midfielder andy drury and winger lee martin, whilst striker michael chopra has been made available for transfer as has Jay Emmanuel Thomas.

Lee martin is would appear likely to sign for his former club charlton, or a lower league/up and coming club such as bournemouth, doncaster or barnsley.

Charlton athletic set to make a bid for Spurs, Masimo luongo after he impressed at Swindon town. Also rumoured is the permanent arrivals of both John Obika and Mark Gower.
BWP has also attracted interest from newly promoted Gillingham and Coventry City.

Charlton transfer window not looking as busy as first hoped.

Players to be released are as follows:

    Matt Taylor
    BWP
    Scott Wagstaff
    Salim Kerkar
    John Sullivan
    Yado Mambo
    Jordan Cook

Therefore players to be signed are:
CB - Alex Pearce (free) - Reading
    RW - James Henry (350k) - 'Wall
    CM - Liam Trotter (350k) - 'Wall
LW - Simon Davies (free) - Fulham
ST - Nicky Maynard (Loan) - Cardiff

    ---
There's no chance of Nicky Maynard going out on loan. He has just come back fron a long term cruciate injury and is an exciting option. Malky has stated that he is central to his plans

    ---
Trotter is going to Brighton if they get promoted

Charlton and Burnley are both pondering moves for 24-year-old Bristol City striker Sam Baldock.

Any idea what budget SCP will have, if any? If it's a case of clear some wage bill and sell Solly to raise funds to build, it would be a shame. Would rather we let go of a few and gamble in the free and loan market personally. Defence looked composed in most of the last 8 games and there's something to build upon there.
