Good to get them off the wage bill, especially Christensen.
but have we ? We don't know what the deal is, we don't know what they are earning, we don't know what proportion of the wages we might be paying etc etc.

In our situation getting £200 off the wage bill is a good thing, especially when neither player was ever likely to play for our first team.
Fair point though, hopefully Lyngby are paying a good proportion if not all.
you'd have to be a bit of a schizophrenic to be a Spurs fan.
One window you are selling player who isn't good enough for you, good business, he had a bad attitude etc. You boo him when he plays against you and lo and behold he not only re-signed for you but he's morphed in a great player again and a bargain at that.
Still at least all those fans who kept their Chimbonda/Defoe/Keane shirts aren't out of pocket.

To be fair i don't think Spurs ever wanted to sell him. Their chairman kicked up a right fuss about him going at the time.
The big winners in this (as usual) are the player and his agent. Nice signing on fee when he went to Liverpool, 6 months later, another nice signing on fee as he didn't request the move.
[cite]Posted By: paulbaconsarnie[/cite]but playing for liverpool was keanes chilhood dream. (be intresting to see if celtic ever approach him).
signed to tarmac rick parrys drive, locked on fact;-)
does this means defoe could go tomorrow?
Defoe is out for three months with a broken foot.
I feel a bit for Keane, Benitez insisted on his signing, then failed to play to his strengths. Then he gets dropped and is back at Spurs. No wonder Liverpool want to take the responsibility of signing players away from Benitez.
[cite]Posted By: valleyman[/cite]Keane to Liverpool = one of the worst transfers ever, even Dowie & Pardew did not cock up one individual transfer that badly.
The funniest thing with the Keane transfer was on the weekend when a reporter said to Benitez, "You bought him (Keane) for 20 million." To which Benitez replied, totally deadpan, "No, the club bought him for 20 million."

Rumour has it that Parry signed Keane against Benitez wishes, hence why he was not used as much, and Parry & Benitez are not exactly bosom buddies (allegedly)
Premier League clubs splashed a record £178m in the January transfer window, compared with £146m in 2008, £63m in 2007 and only £35m when the system was introduced in 2003. Who says there's a credit crunch? (The Sun)

And would have bought him back next season like Defoe
what a crap bid for a good player?

Would you rather a good bid for a crap one?Remember when we signed Jeffers.

Lets hope this spurs the DeMerit deal.
yeah get rid of your top scorer
Watford suggesting more business still to be done.

What do you mean? Is that a reply to Cowie signing for Watford?
Now confirmed

Only if Spurs are willing to pay his loyalty bonus as part of the deal...

Yeah, overplayed the "fake" injury a bit there Charlton ; - )
Would be interesting to hear from the new Head of Sports Science at the Club, Nicky Davies, on the levels of fitness and number of injuries.
He was here under Curbs and came back just before Xmas.
If only someone could organise a fans Q & A with Davies so we could ask him direct.
