  • [quote][cite]Posted By: 1905[/cite]I am beyond caring about which team we put out - might as well put the squad numbers in a hat and pull them out. Might even find a new keeper of the Steve Brown mould.[/quote]

Me too - I fully expect a similar side to Norwich and us to get royally stuffed 4 or 5 - 1 unfortunately.
  • A 0 - 3 victory for the rip roaring score free-ing youngsters + Burton and Weaver.
  • We caught Norwich at the right time, sadly the follow up never emerged.

Sheff U will be too strong for us, 2-0
  • [cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]Rush goalie came to place from kids 5 a-side if not enough numbers you could allow your keeper out of the D- monkey rush is the anyone can be goalie so long as there's only one in the D as acting keeper at a time!

When you had uneven number one side had rush goalie and the other a stick goalie (couldn't come out).

Then you'd buy 4 sweats for a penny on the way home or on cold days pretend you were smoking a sweat cigarette. Have your tea in front of the telly watching Blue Peter and then out to play footie again.

Oh, 1-1 and a reply. Dickson will come on and score late equaliser.
  • They've scored 8 goals against us in the two league games so i can only see another gubbing 3-0
  • Big defeat. If we concede less than 2 it will be a shock.

Still vaguely hoping that the blades will know we're a walkover and go to sleep, but I reckon 3-1.
  • jonjo starts
    we lose 4-1

Our best result against Shef Utd this season : 2-0 to them. Another corner turned!
  • we have scored 2 though so maybe we can capitalise on the fact that they are only 6 goals better than us.

  • We've played them twice so far this season, and the aggregate score is 8-3. So, divide that by 2 & my forecast is 4-1.5 to Sheffield Utd. Not sure how we'll score half a goal, but statistics never lie.
  • I don't want to tinker too much because Charlton are a side that if you don't pay them the respect they deserve, they will damage you." so says Blades manager Kevin Blackwell

Not been paying attention has he
  • Ah, but there will be no loaness Pete, so the statistics also tell us we'll definitely win!
  • We'll win 6-0. Ambrose and Shelvey hat tricks. Both will be sent off after the final whistle for fighting over who gets the ball and Darren will fully recover after a couple of weeks in hospital!

hope you're right i had a tenner at 400 to 1 on a jonjo shelvey hatrick with paddy power .... i've joined the RTB!
  • well done to those predicting a Charlton win, that really is amazing opimism. Just hoping for something less than an embarrassing drubbing myself.
  • We'll get dicked - big time.
  • A horrible realisation.........for the first time in years, I genuinely don't care.

As an aside 3-0 defeat atleast.
  • Mark Lawrenson predicts 2-0 Shef Utd - which if true would arguably be a good result after conceding eight against them already this season.

His preview also makes alarming reference to us having ''all sorts of problems'' off the pitch as well as on it ...

4-0 the Blades. Couldn't care less. We are relegated. But a win over Palace would be wonderful.

  • a narrow 5-0 defeat.
  • have we kicked off yet?

    Not yet.
    But we're 1-0 down.
  • My heart so wants Charlton to win but my head can only see another defeat. I've resigned myself to another miserable night with my old friend "Old Speckled Hen"
  • "CharltonCharlie" just got a mention on BBCLONDON 94.9. Anyone know him ?
  • Charlton: Elliot; Moutaouakil, Youga, Hudson, Fortune; Shelvey, Holland, Bailey, Ambrose, Sam; Burton.

Subs: Randolph, Clark, Basey, Wagstaff, Racon, Dickson, Gray.

Sheff Utd: Bennett; Sun, Naysmith, Morgan, Kilgallon, Halford, Naughton, Montgomery, Webber; Sharp, Henderson.

Subs: Haber, Walker, Hendrie, Carney, Howard, Cotterill.
  • I am sorry but this system has not won a game for Parkingson so why the hell does he still use it.
  • Not wanting to be dim, but who on earth is Clark?
  • We've got our 2 fast attacking full backs playing together in the same team again.

We know neither of them can defend, but hey-ho.

I can't see Jonjo figuring out wide, surely not?
You play him where he is most effective, in the hole or CM.

So Sam RM and Ambrose LM?

7 on the bench as it's a cup game again, and he's included 17 year Jack Clark from the Youth team.

Racon fit enough for the bench.
  • Its that strange pre kick off dilusion time, when I can feel a win coming on, how long will the trip last this week ???
