The positive thing is that Dicko bagged one in the onion bag so there is no more excuses for not giving him a start and also there is much more fire in the team now..
We are still giving away ridiculous goals. We've done it all season, nothing suggests we will change before May.
Palace have now conceded 8 in two games, Warnock must be pleased they onl have to contend with our freescoring forwards on Tuesday. Will be amazed if Dickson is even on the bench.
Pardky will still out him if he can get a decent fee.
Nigel - I have never been on the Dickson bandwagon, as what I'd seen of him didn't suggest he was going to be our saviour.
However, what I am an advocator of is playing your form man. Now he may only have one goal, but in comparison to the rest of our forwards, well, I really don't need to go on. He has done something today, by the sounds of it, that none of our forwards seem capable of - he created a goal for himself out of nothing.
As much as I am guessing your comments are tongue in cheek, nothing would surprise me anymore.
No not tongue in cheek , Clem. I really would not be surprised to see him go to Southend on Monday!
Share you sentments entirely. He's not our saviour but he made and finished a goal. Hallelujah!
Did he hold the ball up, did he track back, play his team mates in, help out the defence or did he just selfishly try to score goals for himself ? Frankly, I hope the latter cos it seems to me there are nine other out players to do that other stuff...
It's NOT rocket science - to win the game, you have to score more goals than the other side - and if we don't have any centre forwards on the pitch capable of scoring a goal, we'll never win a game again .....

The word about Dickson is that all he does is score goals, suggesting to me that he's a confidence player and if his form and confidence are off then he's unlikely to trouble the back of the net. Despite the result he'll be feeling sky high and somewhat vindicated. I'm not sure whether I'd start him vs Palace, but I'd certainly make sure he gets 30 minutes plus off the bench, and how he's handled from here-on is down to Parky and Kins giving him instructions and making him feel part of the team and letting him know he has a job to do, and what that job is. On the other hand with Gray/Burton not scoring, maybe I'd give one of them a rest and play Dickson alongside the other and tell him to get in the box, look for the ball and shoot, and not to worry if shots are blocked/saved.
As you say it's a combination of all of the above.
It's going to be interesting if we do sell Dicko.. as i can see a few people blowing their stack on here, but the way things have been happening this season it would not surprise me if he did get sold.
I don't want him to go,we need to give him some starts..he CAN score goals but Parky rates Burton above him

Can we keep this team for Tuesday, please Mr Pardky, but with Dickson starting?
Love to see Dickson and Shelvey together - but no doubt the loanees will be back ansd there'll be another six changes...

PLAY DICKO
Succinctly put, Nigel.
I would prepare myself to be seriously pissed off if i was you.
I would be seriously surprised if this changes anything. :-(
People don't care as its the cup?. People resigned to our fate?. People bored with moaning?. I completely expected result?.
A combination of all of the above I'm thinking.
