All of a sudden that feeling after Norwich in the cup on Tuesday night seems a very long way away. If this team was a dog you'd take out and shoot it as a last act of kindness. Met some Orient fans whilst on the DLR today, said "See you next season", they said "only if we stay up ourselves". They lost again too today so even a short trip over to Brisbane Rd next season is looking doubtful.
What on earth posessed me to think we could win today. Oh well, only another 3 months or so of agony. I can't wait to get the call asking why haven't I haven't renewed my season ticket for next year.
The team was very very late coming out to warm up. Moo2 was clearly upset over something. Right from kick off, it was obvious that the game was going to be dire. I haven't got a b***y clue what's going on anymore, Credit to Sam and Randolph, but we've even managed to knock the stuffing out of Jonjo. Moo2 was the first over to clap the fans, but he made made some pretty bad errors in this game, although I'm still a fan of his. Last away game for me, I've really had enough of this.
My heart said that any win, under any circumstances might just start something...when I saw it go 1-0 today my head said "thats another one gone" and so it proved. Talking to another Addick at lunchtime and as he rightly said, its the hope that kills you.

I said the same thing last Saturday night after Forest. It's like having a wife you know will let you down, embarrass you, but still you stay with her. It destroys your soul and grinds you down. It's worn me out this season, I honestly can't stand anymore.

Fortunately, the closest I will be getting to the Valley that night will be Pontoon Dock DLR Stn at about 8:30pm, as I shoot through on my way to my nightshift and look over at the floodlights across the river. I never thought I'd consider myself lucky missing a south London Derby involving my beloved Charlton.

McLovin's views from 'Illsborough, for what they're worth
Randolph 6.5 - it says something when a keeper that should have been sent off and conceded 4 and watched one come off the bar and line was your best player by a mile, but that's our life at the moment. Murty 4.5 - well off the pace until he was the victim of a nasty tackle. Looked like a 34 yr old journeyman coming back from injury Fortune 4 - dead slow and stop were the two gears used. He's done well recently, but this was a horrshow. Tudgay and Jeffers were forever getting in behind him. Hudson 4 - tried hard and was up acting as a target while we chased the game, leaving more space at the back. Bassey 1 - no redeeming features from the glacial fullback. The slowest man in a very slow defence gave away a pen and watched with limited interest as the first goal went in close to the post he was supposed to be watching. Even his normally good freekicks, were pathetic. Hardly got over halfway, but had Wednesday players in behind him constantly. Lacks the physical strength or pace for the position. If Youga ever had a game this bad, he'd be lynched - guess he's lucky it was away from home and he's "one of ours" Soares 2.5 - started on the left wing and had a go on the right too, where he can't play, despite what Parky thinks. Why he's brought in all these central midfielders (the one position where we're adequate) I'll never know. Gave me Soares on my eyes watching him. As poor a debut as I've seen. Come back Scott Sinclair, all is forgiven. Spring 4 - worked hard and scored a sweet, sweet goal, but really that was it. Bailey 4 - did little to stem the Wednesday tide. Normally I'm a fan, but it was a very bad game for him. Shelvey 4 - tried to get up to support Gray, but ultimately failed. When he got the ball he gave it away. When you're relying on a 16 year old, with less than 10 starts, playing in a stupid formation, this is going to happen. Sam 4 - a couple of tricky moments, but gave the ball away constantly. Had to cover for the awful Soares on the left, too, but it doesn't mask his worst game for a long time. Gray 3 - achieved nothing marooned up front. Not entirely his fault.
SUBS Dicko 5.5 - one bright spot, but he'll never start for us sadly. Gave the ball away a bit and snapped at half chances, but did more in his 20 minutes than any other outfielder. Holland 5.5 - worked hard and tried to get heads up. Actually put a half decent cross in while forced to play out wide - a position he could not carry 6 years ago. Mouts 2 - a really terrible game. Tried to play the ball, but got everything wrong. I've been agitating for him to be in the team (and our best results have come with him in the side), but he let himself down today.
Manager - 1 tactics were hopeless. Tried for a draw, with a defensive line up, when we need nothing but wins. Gray had no chance, whenever he managed a flick on it was always going to go straight to Wednesday. Insane. Not deploying Dicko shows a major flaw in his character as he appears to be picking the team based on personal likes rather than what is good for the club. The whole defence was incredibly slow, so it must have been a joy for Wednesday to see them played so far up the pitch. Soares is not a wide player - certainly not on the left, playing him there was like starting with 10 men. He called it his lowest point as a manager, which I'd agree with, though there's plenty of competition for the title.
I believe in his passion and that this is hurting him as much as me, but he just doesn't have the ability to turn it round. Might as well keep steering the boat into the rocks for the rest of the year and then try to start again next year.
