Addicks make Lita approach

  • As we know, Lita's contract with Reading expires in the summer, he goes for free then, so Reading are probably thinking we'll be lucky to get £250k for him at the moment.

Ok we don't just have that kind of spare cash lying around on the table, but it could be decent business anyhow.
Stick him on a 3 year contract and flog him on for £750k in the summer, if we don't stay up.

If Coppell will play him only if he has no other options, then Lita won't want to hang around just to train with their stiffs.
So the question would be: signing on fee and wages, how much?

And that's probably as much of a sticking point as anything.
  • Its a no goer Oggy.

Why would Lita commit to a potential League 1 club when he is out of contract in the summer and can negotiate a nice signing on fee and wages at a higher level ?

What would you tell him if you was his agent ? I know what i would advise

Plus there would be the scenario of him getting a long-term injury and we are stuck with a player we can't afford and can't sell.
  • I think the best way around it for us and possibly Reading is to offer Lita a move on loan until the end of the season, To then put clauses based on surviival say that we pay 1.5 million should we stay up, ontop of paying some of his wages and the money that we saved on Buzz going as a payment to Reading to sweeten it. if this is to be the case i would suggest it couldnt happen until feb 2nd when the window closes in case they want all their money upfront and that lets others buy him.
  • Why cant we try to sign him till end of season for a reasonable loan fee? He then has his options open and Reading have the loan fee, like we tried with Ambrose. It may be hard but i'd hope any cash will be spent on getting that cutting edge that we need, oh and a defender would be nice too!
  • Great minds nth london addick :0)
  • not wrong mart if anyone at the club is redaing i am sure mart will agree we can close these deals for a small fee
  • Maybe we need to do a Ronnie Moore again and pass the buckets around before the end of the window!

    1. Why would Reading do that if they can get a bigger transfer fee. He will be worthless to them in the summer so this is the last chance to cash in. As I said before if they can't do a transfer then may a loan fee would suit them but not till the end of the window. The lump sum is we stay up is a possibility but look at it from Reading's point of view. what chance do they think they would have of ever seeing that money?

    2. That would be a risk. We in effect buy the player from Reading for 3 months. In May he's a free agent and we can't get a return on him. He can jump to whichever club he wants to. OK, the upside is we are not saddled with his wages if we go down or stay up but still as risk. We already have Ambrose and ZZ who can leave in the summer for no fee. That very real injury to ZZ could end up costing us a lot of money but them's the breaks.

    3. What AFKA said, Lita and his agent may prefer to take the risk of getting a better deal as a free transfer in the summer although for some players that might be a real risk. More than a few players may find they have to down grade their expectations in terms of money and status in the summer.

Fair points, AFKA ....... especially I hadn't considered the serious injury scenario.

Define "small" in terms of wages and fees

I would love to see it happen and maybe it will but just can't see it at the moment unless that Arab chap I was chatting to at the game last night was really serious about buying the club.

I told him he was mad and to keep his money. Do you think I made a mistake?

All fair points that i take on board. I did think that any loan would be in a few weeks, not just because of the window but the situation with the possible transfer of Kevin Doyle, which could have a baring on whether Lita moves or not. I will try and hope for the positives and hope Lita feels he will get a better deal in the summer if he's playing regularly until then, hopefully with us :0)

P.S. Please don't crush my hopes and dreams ;0)
  • dunno H but iw ould be preparde to finalise the deal to save the fellas at the ground doing it for no more than a large cuban cigar and the right to smoke it in the nth upper

The funniest thing was that it was the same African article that came out a couple of months back! Although the new Drogba would be nice!
  • Honestly think this is something we should move mountains to make happen - could score the goals to keep us up or could be an asset if we go down.

Total longshot but I'd say he was well worth a punt - and if it's true that he would prefer us then that's another reason to make it happen

He's ours. But have to either get a work permit or farm him out until he gets one.
  • Is there actually any earthly chance that we could get Cyrillic script bloke?

I thought he was talking about Lita not the best striker we've never heard of!
  • Talking about Cyriac, Antoine N'Gossan looks like he's one the other two signing this month-

It's in French, but he's probably going on loan to Saint Etienne.
  • I was talking about Lita

    Henry - make it happen

    Henry - make it happen

I'll give Steve Waggott a ring and tell him to do it or else.

bidjan - The two young attackers of Yellow and Black, who scored the spirits during the season, are in high demand. Bi Cyriac Gohi Zoro (18), best scorer of the 2008 national championship with 21 goals, is considered one of the hopes of the Ivorian football. It has all the qualities needed to succeed a successful career.

During and after the competition, the talented offensive environment ASEC is the object of lust. But its chairman, Roger Ouégnin, who is familiar with the workings of the transfer appears to have already marked the way for his protégé. Bi Gohi could put his bags in Charlton (England): "This is the right time for me to go and learn from seasoned professionals. This will allow me to gain new experience.

It is certain that I am prepared to leave, "says the player who is happy to have finished better gunner in a league like the Ivory Coast. "I do not expect me. I knew I could write goals, but rank better gun was not obvious. However, I think I picked the fruit of hard work. I want to thank my teammates who have contributed to my consecration. Without them, I am nothing. I can now confirm my value wherever I am, "said Bi Gohi.

Moreover, the small wonder of asec think that overall, his team qualified for the Champions League in 2009 and winner of the national cup, managed a good season. He noted that the final phase of the African Youth Cup in 2009 (expected in Rwanda) it takes much to heart. He wants to participate and demonstrate, in the eyes of all, what he is capable. Even being in Europe, it will return to defend the colors of his country at this meeting for the youth.

As for his "accomplice" of the army offensive ASEC, N'Gossan N'Gossan Antoine (17), it is likely to carry the colors of AS Saint-Etienne (French Ligue 1) if the test which it will be possible in France, is conclusive. With the technical, physical and moral that he knows dribbler of the charm of Mimos can rise to the challenge.

"I want to be professional and with the blessing of God, I succeed," said N'Gossan who do not regret having served for many years, asec. A club, the quality of its sports facilities and professionalism of its management, allowed him to speak well. As shown, the Yellow and Black club could do without its two purposes Limia. The vacuum is surely difficult to fill. Car talents as Gohi Bi N'Gossan and do not run the streets.
