  • [cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]Pericard has scored 8 goals in six seasons, and three of them were in one game. Not what we need to be honest.

    makes Burton look prolific !!
  • [cite]Posted By: StubleyAddick[/cite]I am really happy about this deal great player.

Well you would be since you think we should be signing half of the Ebbsfleet team :-)

So having slagged off the journos on our local papers earlier in the day for printing gossip before the deals were confirmed, I think we should now be fair and point out :

    1. Kent Messenger/Kent Online were right last night with their exclusive about Soares (although they said 3 month deal ). Thery were also right that the Gray to Stoke deal was dead.

    2. SLP were spot on first thing this morning with Izale McL to Millwall for the rest of the season.

So in a busy week of transfer activity, our south London football journos have been right and first to the story in every case. National tabloids is another matter, but I'd say congrats to Tony Hudd at KM and to Rob Kelly at SLP. Good work, chaps...You see, they don't just make it all up!
  • Excuse me, Nigel.

This is not a forum where we give credit when people are proved right.

Now if you'd just slag them off in the time honoured tradition, we can all get on with the serious business of picking holes in whatever people are saying.

    Like I've just done.

    ;o)

Exactly. I was trying to explain that to Sailor Browneye but I don't think he quite got it : - )

    :-)

Very good Mr Hayes, my man!! Good to see your blindly flagrant spin extends beyond the confines of the workings of the CAFC Board!! ;-)

Just looked and in that month he can play in 6 league games. At the end of those games we'll either be back in with a chance of survival or be dead and buried. If we're in with a shout theres every chance it could be extended, if we're dead and buried he'll probably go back to save us money on wages. It's unlikely Stoke will want him back if he's barely featured all season.

Chris, mate - I started a thread on this subject this morning - not sure if you have seen it, just in case...

Great minds think alike and all that
  • Nice one, Oggy!

Erm, let's think. Yes, I've got it! I still don't think we should be signing loanees on short term fixes and I shall refer you back to my stats on how our best results this season have come with zero or minimal input from loanees...

    There! Will that do? LOL...

didn't they say 93 day loan with 28 day recall option? In which case perhaps they are still spot on.
  • Fair play Nigel.

    Credit where credit's due.
  • Another loanee eh?

I'll give you my honest opinion on Soares. Always thought because he played for the Under 21's he's been massively overrated. He's not a winger but does a solid job there. He's got a very good engine on him but the biggest criticism he got from Palace fans is he always seemed to be a yard behind the play.

His passing is ok, nothing special. One of his strengths is that he is pretty powerful when he gets going, seen him a few times go on some mazy runs but sadly it wasn't as often as we'd of liked. He chips in with about 5 or 6 goals a season which isn't bad either I suppose.

Never a fans favourite at Palace but he's still very young and after being in the first team for so long I think we almost forgot that. Wasn't too dissapointed to see him go as we need the money but overall, not a bad loan signing. I'll be booing him though of course!

Pericard played for Millwall on Saturday after joining them on loan a 93 day loan from Stoke to replace McLeod, was was injured, who was signed to replace Kandol who was playing for us because we didn't sign Pericard.

    Confused? You will be!
