Decent player, certainly at Championship level, again i'm very surprised of the position though. Feel once again we're concentrating in the wrong areas.
Well down the pecking order at Stoke, and have heard rumours of personal problems / homesickness, so we are probably a good fit and felt if the player was on offer it was too good an opportunity to turn down, is my reading of it.
i would like to see the stabilty the club are trying to install at mgmt level continued down thriugh the team. however i really dont think that it is a bad move to move Sharon ?? on and replace him with Soares. I was Very impressed with the lad in the last 2 seasons he is a player i hoped we would go for in the summer window.
I think tbh that Shelvey and ZZ (when fit) will play behind the striker, i think Matty is going to be used as cover CH and will therfore spend more time warming the banch than maybe he is happy with but i think he will do whatever it takes for the cause.
That then leaves
Soares Bailey Spring Sam Racon Semedo (injured for 2months)
to be spread across the middle of the park so it does make sense IMO to strenghten in this position. all i would say is i really hope a striker comes in as does a replacement for murty or the loan be extended
[cite]Posted By: cfgs[/cite]I thought you were not allowed to play for three sides in a season? He has already played for PalARSE and Stoke so would ineligible to play for us.
We couldn't sign him but we can loan him. Bouazza is owned by Fulham but has played for us and Brum on loan.

It's done from what I'm being told. We're also trying to tie up someone called Dickinson from them but I think Pulis is reluctant to let him go unless we compromise to the Gray deal.
Carl Dickinson is a left back. And if Gray does go to the Britannia Stadium, there seems to be talk of Stoke doing a Fulham/Bouazza and recalling Vincent Pericard from Soton and sending him on to us...don't they have any spare central defenders they could throw in, too?
The Pericard signing would point to us getting ready for next season in div 1. We are slowly rebuilding our squad. Best get it done now so when next season comes they are a team and ready for the challenge.

Not even keen on Soares to be honest. Would much rather Wright given a go.
Whilst Wright will be a good player in the future, we need players for now, not next year or the year after. Soares is a good player with a lot of experience at this level.
STOKE have failed in a bid to sign Charlton striker Andy Gray on loan in a deal that would have seen Tom Soares, Carl Dickinson and Vincent Pericard all moving in the opposite direction until the end of the season.
Soares was today pondering the offer to continue with his loan move to London, however, while Dickinson is wanted by Charlton, Blackpool and Leeds.
But Pericard seems certain to remain at the Britannia, at least for now, as Charlton no longer want a striker now that Gray is remaining at The Valley.
City boss Tony Pulis wanted Gray to add a fresh dimension to his attack between now and the end of the season.
He believed he could resurrect his ailing fortunes at struggling Charlton and dovetail him into a Stoke strike force already boosted this week by the capture of James Beattie, but still missing the injured Mama Sidibe and the suspended Ricardo Fuller.
But the proposed four-player deal fell through when the former Sunderland and Burnley striker, who made his Charlton debut against Stoke 12 months ago, pulled the plug because he wants to remain in London following a family illness.
Pulis is still hoping to farm out at least a couple of players, however, and confirmed today: “We might look to let a couple of fringe players out because they haven’t played much football over the last month or two.
“I think Tom and Carl have both needed games more than anybody else. Now we’ve got Liam Lawrence fit again, I think it’s important Tom goes out and plays some football. He looks really sharp in training, but lacks a bit of match practice.”
Soares has started just five Premier League games since his £2m move from Crystal Palace at the start of September, while Dickinson, who has previously enjoyed a successful loan stint at Blackpool, has begun only two.

Thought that was THE reason for gray wanting to move back up north. No?
That's what I thought, too, Carly Burn. My memory may be playing tricks here, but I could swear that when he was missing training due to family crisis, the OS or Pardew or someone said the problem had taken him back up north ?
Update : Gray deal definitely off according to Parky. And even if Soares does still come, Parky now telling the SLP it will be a one month loan, not the three months suggested in the original Kent Online story.
Cardiff and Birmingham have also been trying to get him on loan apparently.
I think this one may boil down to how much we are willing to pay (full salary)
Interesting that part of the deal when he left Palace had a fair bit weighted in on how much he plays for Stoke this season. Don't look like they are going to get that.
One inconsistency in the story is as the Gray Deal is off we no longer need a striker, well I would beg to differ if we DON'T get a striker in we really do have no chance of staying up.
the goalposts seem to be moving in this whole deal by the minute. Let's just wait and see how this transpires. For the Stoke website to say we no longer want a striker as Gray is staying is crap as is him wanting to stay in London.

When it's on the OS it is a done deal. Until then it's all gossip.
Wish these agents, managers etc, would all just shut up and stop getting us excited until the deals are actually signed! Then I might be able to get some work done instead of absurdly wasting my time chasing this story from Kent Online to the Stoke fan site to the South London Press and back again to here via whispered comments and all the rest! Doh...
On the other hand, waiting for the OS isn't too satisfactory, either, because it has a poor history of not being first with the news. Which is understandable - a phone call to a journalist is a much quicker way of getting the story out than the laborious process of putting it on the site. Is it just speculation that Izale gone to Milwall then ? Cos that's not yet on the O/S, either.

He could score a debut hat-trick before the OS got round to reporting he'd signed[/quote]
Unfair. They can't jump the gun the way Kent on Line obviously did. Papers and news services run 10 "so and so signs" stories and if one is right claim great insight.
I would rather the OS waited until all the paperwork was done so I know for sure it has happened rather than mislead people the way some sites and papers do.

Might play out wide though?
Could work well getting in a more solid central midfielder that can play wide, rather than another inconsistent winger.

Cheers forgot about buzz
The deal is yet to be fully agreed.
I'm so fed up with loan players.
