i dont think he will be going anywhere especially not some nthn monkey backwards town near scotland.
i think some of you are doing his parents and JonJo as dis-service, how do you know that he aint loving it here right now, how do you know that his parents dont want a slow and steady rise in his football career and not to be littered with the wonderkids that are kicking around at the prime of their lives in the lower leagues or out of football all together.
Jon Jo is special to us he is very special, but in the realms of the football world their is 100's of jon jo's, Look at the likes of Cadamatri,Branch,Bridge. all were the next shearer,Owen,Fowler and not one of them made it.
Too much Too young and your head gets turned the motivation is money nasty people run your life and offer you the world then 1 serious injury 1 bad move where as a young man you get in trouble, these scum bag agents dont answer every call they are not phoning you every day and you become just another youngster with prospects but you aint the man any more, your start taking that thought into your football and then before you know it your playing with Luke Chadwick (remember him the next Ryan Giggs) in league 1.
Slowly and surely for Jon Jo his parents are not intrested in the trappings of their son all they want is for him to be succesful and that will take time i am sure they are aware of that
Agreed NLA.We will be behind him more than any other supporters. There's no point in languishing in a premiership team's reserves.
Scott Parker is another good example. He may have become rich overnight playing for Chelsea, but his career suffered and he has never hit the heights he did at Charlton IMO, because he moved too early. He should have waited. He would still have become rich and money really is not everything. My happiest days were in the 6th form and early working years, when I had the least money in my life.
Jonjo put happiness before being rich, miserable and not seeing as much of your friends and family.
JonJo, have you ever been to Middelsbro ? It has to be in my top 10 worst places in England.
If you had you wouldn't sign for them. Gary O'Neil who hails from Bromley has only been up there a year and wants to leave.
The question is, though, if Middlesboro are really prepared to put £2m on the table upfront for JonJo (which, frankly, I'm disinclined to believe, anyway), will our board in its current 'everything can go' mood be able to say no?
Even if JonJo and his thoroughy level-headed and sensibly protective family don't want it, will the board simply say ,'if you want to play top flight football, that's the way it is' ?

Scotty's real problem was that with Lampard and several other internationals ahead of him he was never going to get a regular starting spot in his favoured position. I think in his short (in terms of games played) career for Chelsea he only started one game in central midfield, his other few starts were either on the right or left. Chelsea's reserve team policy in those days was to play their kids rather than give those on the fringe of the first team a run-out, so not only did he rarely get on the pitch for the first team he virtually never played in the reserves.
to be honest he deserves more than what we can offer i really feel sorry for him, i for one will never boo him or blame him if he left our club is dying
I know what you mean NLA, but its the likes of JJ and the other promising young players that we need to build our team around. They are our future, we should nurture them and hold on to them as long as we can.
