  • Or Sam in the hole, even? Like he did once home to Blackburn even.

    D'you know, if Ambrose plays the 'Jonjo' role, we could do worse than to play Sam as lone striker.

    Fast, tricky and elusive - just play the ball on the floor to him in the channels. He'd frighten the life out of defenders, as long as we didn't lump it up high.

    It's got a bit of a 2nd string feel to the team.
  • OS says ambrose behind Burton in attacking position

    by the way this is his best and prefered postion and one that i think he could play.

    now there will be nowt learnt from this one even if we win there is only 3 players who's confidence will be lifted from it
  • Charlton: Randolph; Moutaouakil, Basey, Hudson, Fortune; Wagstaff, Wright, Bailey, Ambrose, Sam; Burton.

    Subs: Elliot, Youga, Holland, Yussuff, Shelvey, Todorov, Dickson.

    Norwich: Marshall; Otsemobor; Drury, Omozusi, Doherty; Croft, Fotheringham, Clingan, Bell; Cort, Lupoli.

    Subs: Nelson, Bertrand, Lappin, Pattison, Smith, Russell, Hoolahan.
  • Parky can use 3 of 7 subs:

    Substitutes

    * 21 Elliot,
    * 03 Youga,
    * 07 Shelvey,
    * 08 Holland,
    * 10 Todorov,
    * 17 Dickson,
    * 27 Yussuff
  • Looks quite attacking, although it could mean that Bailey has his work cut out in midfield.
  • Shelvey rested, Semedo injured...

    Looks like we are down to the bare bones once the loans and injured players are stripped out the reckoning.
  • Surprised that Norwich haven't started Hoolahan who i thought was their best player last time.
  • Both teams look they are playing 4-5-1.

    Dickson to get 15 minutes, more if it goes to extra time.

    Wagstaff to be taken off for Todorov, Ambrose moved to the left, even if he plays well.

    Holland to come on for Wright, even if he's playing well.

    Would really like to see this team do well, with Ambrose in the hole, and Randolph, Wright, Wagstaff, Basey and Moutaouakil starting

    Agreed. Apart from Randolph in for Elliott, most of the rest are forced changes or sensible to rest the very young (Shelvey) and very old (sorry, Matty).

    Would like to see Dickson on in 442 with Burton at some point.

    But ours at least isn't a conventional 4-5-1, which normally converts to 4-3-3 when attacking. Curbs used to play it that way.

    Parky invariably plays 4-4-1-1, which is more of a 4-4-2 but with the man in the hole given a free role/deep striker.

    lol, hope he had his flu jab this year.
  • Bare bones that I know we need a win but rather keep shelvey fresh for wednesday at wknd

    does this mean weaver and grey are on way out soon??
  • Weaver is out injured i heard
  • It's a sad indictment of Toddy's fitness that even in a stripped down team like tonight's, the bloke can't be given a 90 minute run-out...

    He occasionally plays them for the stiffs - weird. Surely he could do with a bit of competitive action but his legs must be too delicate now.
  • no Mc Clown either.
  • I'd imagine Gray might be off on compassionate seeing as we have 4 fit strikers and apart from morale the game doesn't mean too much.

    Think Weaver is anyone's to be honest.
  • Weaver is injured, I'm not sure about Gray, he has been injured but I thought was ok - he was on the bench vs Forest and after Burton's missed goals I'd have thought he'd have got the nod.
  • Worth noting that nine of the squad are home grown players.
  • Interesting line up, but not too bad in all fairness
