EDIT: Just seen the article and it says we are 7 from safety. I thought we was 8 points from it. One less point to make up, I'm feeling more positive now.

Norwich are the team just above the relegation zone on 26 points, my maths tell me that is seven points from Charlton's tally of 19 regardless of the Canaries' superior goal difference.
Can i ask is it because we are a small club that NO ONE is asking the board and Parky hard questions
Why has no one asked The board what their intentions are to resolve these issues that are at this club
What did Parky do to impress them
Why did they State publically that Parkies results would have to improve as well as performances for him to get the job
Why did they not act when they removed pardew
What did they learn from the Les Reed debarcle
Why have they not come out and declared their errors wjat they feel needs to be done about the situation
What will happen when we go down not if
what financial state we would be in when we drop.
To Parky what did you see in deon that made you want him full time
Why when you look at Shelveys performances was he not included in the squad more before now
Why have you not looked towards Chris Dickson Izale Mcleod when your strikers have failed to take chance after chance
I am not being arsey here Paul but FFS if this was any other club that had fallen from grace so quick those questions would be asked.
If they have been and they have not given you the answers then put that out in the public domain.
Please do something to change that get them in your paper answering the questions most want to hear it is like there is a media blackout on anything other than the weekley bullshit as to why we didnt win how we are going to try to change that
oh yeah and thank parky for caring more than we do
how is it the fans fault some people talk utter bollocks, the fans are gutted but most addicks fans are getting behind the team and parky weve been in worse situations before and came out on top.
Like Parky's quote: "If Deon Burton scores one, I’m sure he would go and score two or three more and the same with Andy Gray".
2 or 3 more....what in the 19 games we have left his expectation of Burton is that he may get 3-4 goals, but ONLY if he gets his first one.
Made me go and check Burtons scoring record which really makes depressing reading. An average of 1 in 4 games, predominently in the lower leagues, and looking at the Sheff Wed site for the most recent direct comparison Burton's average of open play goals whilst he was there (ie not including pens) is just slightly more than 1 every 7 full 90 mins he plays.
I understand that Journos need to keep a relationship with the club but these questions do need to be asked it is a board of football directors not the secret service so i dont understand why the media in general have allowed this to go un asked and it is winding me up TBH

Didn't they say the same for Varney?
As for asking the board, they want to sell up, thats what they are aiming for. I don't think they have a plan for where they want the club to be in 5 years time other than in different hands
I'd love him to steer us clear as we all would, it just doesn't look at all likely does it Phil? If he "cared more than the fans" he'd do the decent thing. Totally agree with the points raised by Nla also.
It is difficult to get access to the people behind the scenes in my experience. I will try and get hold of Richard Murray through the club at some point during the week though and ask these questions if I am able to do so.
Can't really answer your question about why the national media don't give Charlton too much attention as I am only working for a local paper. My guess is because they have the attitude: "If it isn't Premiership, we aren't bothered."
thankyou for your response i look forward to the answers from the club,
obviously you will have change the wording in some of them to be more guarded and not so blatent
talking to fans on saturday they are the line of questions we want answers to and we are amazed that yourselves and other local newspapers have not asked them.
if not if anyone on here has access to media outlets please get some one down and get this board to face facts and issues and communicate to us what we need to hear not what they are prepared to tell us

This is a pretty fundamental issue and in my view is a significant factor in the club's situation, because there just isn't enough informed scrutiny of the club's decisions away from message boards and therefore reaching a wider public. I think that's unhealthy.
There are local reporters who are passionate about Charlton and desperately unhappy not only about the club's position but also angry about the way they are shut out by the club generally compared to previous years. Unfortunately, they don't have the clout individually and they wouldn't be able to act collectively to do anything about it, because it's unlikely they would get backing from their own management to take the club on over it.
Part of the problem is that there is no one title that would be regarded as the main paper, but even then it would depend on personalities.
If you go right back to 1985 you can see a similar attitude in the way most of the local (and national) press responded to the decision to move to Selhurst Park. With one or two honourable exceptions (Patrick Collins at the Mail on Sunday and the guys at the Guardian), the national press simply swallowed the club line, which was nonsense. They even attacked fans for objecting.
We were very lucky, in retrospect, that Peter Cordwell at the Mercury had the balls to punch the club on the nose time and again and an editor who was prepared to back him up. Obviously the issue then was also much more clear cut, but the papers individually are weak in terms of influence on the club and you can't blame the individual reporters for not putting themselves on the line.
The decline in local newspapers affects more than just football - Greenwich borough has no proper, paid-for local paper, just the Mercury (based in Streatham) and the News Shopper (based in Petts Wood), so CAFC isn't the only local institution which avoids scrutiny - Greenwich Council and the local NHS generally get a free ride to bugger everything up, for example.

If that was a good performance, it'll be interesting to see him have a poor game.
Why didn't anyone sing it on Saturday?

Murty and Mckeley probarbly aswell.
Oh and according to 'Terry' on Charlton Live last night our demise is also partly the fans fault.
You have to laugh.

Of course It's our fault, we dont care as much as Parky & the players apparently.

No wonder Parky thinks we need another striker !
Its not the fault of the fans this mess.

What i dont get though is why these papers dont let the public know taht the club is shutting them and us out in this way.
We deserve to be treated better than this
The geezers a Legend !
will the real man in charge of Charlton please Stand up and be HONEST
