edited January 2009 in General Charlton
Would love to see ZZ stay just wanted to hear what everyone else thinks and if anyone has heard any inside knowledge on it?

  • im afraid there is no way he will stay...
  • I'd like him to stay too, but its not going to happen. Another one of our sale able commodities who is almost certainly one of our top earners. I just hope we get a decent fee for him.
  • His contract runs out in the summer surely he is worth keeping to battle our way out of this?
  • hes only worth keeping if he wants to play, which he doesnt.. can be a great player on his day tho...
  • If he does he'll go on a free in the summer.

I'm looking forward to Racon being back more than ZZ, more likely to have a future at the club.
  • He should give us a boost. Its a shame about ZZ though if he does go. I would like to see:

Semodo,ZZ,Racon,Shelvley in a diamond with the full backs getting foward.

    Suppose we can all dream.
  • [cite]Posted By: The Red Tadpole[/cite]hes only worth keeping if he wants to play, which he doesnt.. can be a great player on his day tho...
...and this piece of information comes from where/who exactly?
  • He has been injuryed. Im sure he is biting at the bit to get back and get stuck in. we need the bit of quality. Lets face it burton and gray need it on a plate to score and zz can be quality on his day.
  • the only reason he came to us was because a prem club didnt come in for him... he was going to west brom last i heard...my money is on he wont play for us again...

West Brom were interested, but they weren't willing to pay enough.
Back to the point - you say he doesn't want to play for us. Where did that particular piece of insight come from?

  • I think its 50/50 to be honest. What club will want someone that hasnt played much all season (I know Murty comes into mind). And will parky be desprate to keep him to help our battle to stay up? He is taking 30k home a week so thats the only thing that makes me think he will be sold. I just hope parky can see past that and think he can help us fight to stay up.
  • Thanks just stating the truth!!

ZZ to stay,Left mid and striker needed..We really need to change when we play that stupid childs voice.....

Sorry No1, but I severely doubt that...
  • If you were ZZ and looked at the rest of that team would you want to stay?
  • [cite]Posted By: Screamer[/cite]If you were ZZ and looked at the rest of that team would you want to stay?
Probably not, but the fact of the matter is that Tadpole stated that he doesn't want to play & I asked where he got his info from. I'm still waiting for an answer...
  • No chance.
  • Would love to see him stay as he can create in midfield, which is something none of our other midfields seem to be able to do at the moment. However I'm a realist, we need the money, and he is a high earner. I'm afraid we need to cash in on him.
  • Where has all of this shit come from about people who dont want to play for us.

ZZ broke a metertasle in his foot and has been unable to play.

He may not play for us again but it would be a brave or foolhardy mgr who signs a player who hasnt played for ages due to this injury the only teams that could afford him are in the prem but the bottom teams and i dont think they would be wise to sign a player who is not fit when you need points like they do.

I have heard that there could be a swap deal on the cards for him but i am not sure it would happen.

IMO he wont be match fit until feb the window may well close b4 he can move

he may well play for us again

  • In other news, Parkinson also revealed that Chinese midfielder Zheng Zhi may be back in first-team contention next month - and the club had received no bids for him during the January transfer window.

Added Phil: "There were a couple of enquiries for him in the summer, but obviously because ZiZi has been out of action for so long we haven't had too many enquiries this month as people are concerned about his fitness. There have been no bids [in January].

"He's fine now, and is back running, but it's just going to take him a couple of weeks to get back to match fitness."

  • been a Charlton fan for many years: get used to assets being 'injured' in the run up to the Jan window..
  • OS says that there have been no bids for him and he's getting match fit now. Looking to next month to size him up for the first team.
  • he's away in the summer anyway.

Can you imagine the Chinese internatioal teams captain playing in the 3rd tier
  • If he doesn't go in the window he will go out on loan to a Prem or higher Championship club so long as they pick up a good chunk of the wages.

I'll be amazed if we see him play a first team match for Charlton again.

I'm amazed that I actually saw him play 90 of his 105 minutes on the pitch this season.

    ;o)

Wouldn't surprise me. Short term loan to see if he is fit and then sold but prem clubs can't loan after 2 Feb and would he want to go to another CCC club. Might want to hold on to the summer when he's on a free so more attractive to another club - if fit.

A real shame. Great little player but we need money more than we need him now.
