  • Madness that hes not even on the bench.
  • Perhaps it is because he isn't very good, if he was he would play simple as that really

Ah, if only that were true. Wouldn't have Burton upfront at the moment then.
  • No worse than any other striker at our club. Did well on loan and in reserves and as much justification for giving him a go as any of the other t0ssers that are out there picking up their wages for sweet fa each game.
  • AGHHHHHHH

DICKO DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR CHARLTON!!!!!!

He has long since handed in a transfer request. If you wanted to see him play you should have gone to the FA cup game against Norwich. He came on as a sub and was average beyond belief.

Why do people keep placing so much faith in this unproven player? Dicko was never going to be the solution to our goal scoring problem. Andy Grey has scored seven goals this season, that put's him on the same level as Jason Euell's total for an entire season.

Please, for the love of Charlton Athletic, stop this Dicko Bandwagon.

An opinion based upon the judgement of Alan Pardew and Phil Parkinson who must be trustworthy... After all we have 19 points from 27 games!

And sorry Valley but you just don't know that. The bloke has been completely shunned by the management despite scoring plenty in the reserves and plenty on loan. They're obviously never going to give him a chance so of course he has handed in a transfer request. All he can do is score goals where they put him and he has done exactly that. If they still won't play him, he has to move.

You don't know that he "doesn't want to play for charlton". I'm sure he'd jump at the chance.
  • how does anyone know how good he is if he gets only ten mins??? how many games did varney and gray have??? how many goals??? silence>>>>>>

No.. my opinion of Dicko is based purely on what I've seen of him. I just do not rate him. If you compare what Grey has been through this season to Dicko's plight, the man should have no complaints.

It is a fact, Dicko is transfer listed AT HIS OWN REQUEST. He does not want to play for Charlton and yet all I hear from the covered end is "We want Chris Dickson", like he's some kind of hero. It's a joke, it has to be.

are you a complete and utter thicko or what ? we are up s**t creek witout a paddle and look like we couldn't finsh our dinner and yet we have a player sitting indoors who not only scored for fun when out on loan in the division below us but does the same for the reserves and does he even get the smallest of decent chances? no , yet complete and utter two bob idiots like Mcleod get a start after being out injured for god knows how long .
I'm fed up with all these people coming on here saying he's crap when none of us (and that includes me) know for certain if he can do it or not , I pray for him to be given his chance FROM THE START so we can end the debate one way or another .

he ony wants to leave as he has done all these things that are asked of him and yet after two years still isn't being given that chance or are you two stupid to have worked that out?
  • yes but he wants to leave because he cant get a game, which is fair enough.. he proved himself in the league below which is where we are heading.....

I'm pretty sure that Dickson would love to play for us but what more can he do than score goals when out on loan and score in nearly every reserve game. Despite that he never gets a look in. Every other striker has got a start this season except him. If i was him i'd want a transfer too.
If we do sell him though it'll be a (nother) big mistake by our board as we will need his goals in league one next season.
  • guys, guys, guys,

we're all frustrated. Ease up with each other, please.

    thanks
  • Gray has only got 7 goals this season because half of them have come from penalties- not open play- NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE MONEY WE PAID FOR HIM!!!!!!!

Valley. If you're going to keep saying he doesn't want to play for charlton could you explain why you think that is. Because I don't think it's as a simple as handing in a transfer request. They won't give him a chance. Is he supposed to let himself rot in the reserves?
  • roll on the dicko bandwagon.........................la la la...........................
  • new Paul Gorman
  • Bored of this conversation now. Seriously, have a really good look at Chris Dickinson and ask yourself, is this really the man that can provide a solution to our current problems?

"utter thicko"? Nice. Get a grip for gods sake.

How can we have a look if he's never allowed to play?????
  • He desperately wants to play for Charlton, he's said that many times .Why he cant get a start only Pardew and Parky know. One thing is certain, he certainly couldn't score less than those who are given starts ahead of him....they dont score full stop. You would think out of desperation he would get a chance.
  • You HAVE seen him.. you must have done! I have! There really isn't much to him. He's a league 2 player, that's where he should play, he'll do really well there. HE IS NOT OUR SALVATION.

How many minutes on the pitch have Gray & Varney had this season compared to Dicko? We can't form an informed opinion of the guy by only seeing him for 5-10 minutes every 6 weeks.
  • Why don;t we have thread asking why McLeod doesn;'t get a chance?

One game is not enough time to judge any player, so who knows what McLeod might be able to do (probbaly not much)

Lot of people forget that Parkinson gets to see these players all week during training and obviously in 18 months Dickson hasn't done enough to prove he is worth a start.
  • McLoed got some game time 1st half of last season - I wasn't impressed.
  • But alternatively there are players that must do it in training every week to justify a start but then fail to live up to it on matchday (Lisbie possibly). Parkinson must pick up on the calls for Dickson etc and cant uderstand why he doesnt give him two or three full games to let us see for oursleves what the guys about....hell either score a few or fail miserably and well be able to say ok pardew and parkinson were right all along but either way it would be a win win situation for Parkinson...and lets face it he needs to do all he can in the popularity stakes with the fans at the moment.
  • Why do you need two games to see what I've already seen in 10 minutes? He can't do it. End of.
  • If you think you can judge a player in 10 minutes you are as deluded as Pardew. We've all seen what an excellent judge of players he was.
  • Ive seen glimpses of him play better than most of the crap we have up front. By that logic you are saying that players should be judged purely on 10 minutes? Some of our current regulars have had appalling runs of 3 games etc but still get opportunities.

Really cant understand how you can write him off. Hes no Ali Dia and ive seen enough off him to say he should at least be given a go before off loading him.
  • [cite]Posted By: Valley_floyd_red[/cite]Why do you need two games to see what I've already seen in 10 minutes? He can't do it. End of.

Spurs fans have probably said exactly that about Darren Bent in the last 18 months.

Judge a player in ten minutes, can you? With respect Valley everything you're saying is sounding very ignorant.
  • Seems to me it would be worth seeing him play alongside the latest crop of imports/loanees for more than a few minutes. with all the comings and goings the team has changed quite a bit since he had longer than that.
