It surely says much that apart from the stickys, of the top six 'live' threads in the forum at this moment as I write, this is the only one specifically about current Charlton football !
Daft jokes, the January sales, former players, seperated dads - are we that desperate to get away from thinking about what's happening to us on the pitch right now ? Er, yes, we are...
Even this thread has been marked by its heavy use of that lowest form of wit, sarcasm. Talking of which, I'm surprised that nobody has yet nominated Martin Christensen for POTS. Driving round south London in a £80k motor for doing absolutely nothing - you cannot deny that the guy (or at least his agent) is clearly a very serious player...just not of football.

No, actually that's what this message board has often been like regardless of how well the team is doing.
And a bit of light and shade make it all the better IMHO

And what a belter too.Player of the season. The irony!
Usually I start to think about this from the end of Jan onwards, because I often have a couple of names in my head or there has been an outstanding candidate. This season I am fucked if I can think of one, who has played enough games at a good enough level.
I shall either not bother this year or pick someone off the squad list who failed to get a game this season as a way of voicing my disgust.
There is only a couple of players who have kept their position reguarly throughout. Hudson being one, but he wouldn't be my choice. Actually have no idea.
I think if they asked fans to vote for a player of the yea this season it would be an insultant to those who go every week, for once do the right theing for once Charlton and scrap it.... it will save the emabaressment on the amount of vates you get, the poor sods walking round asking for the votes, as well on the evening itself, why dont the players or club itself donate the money to a charity.

If it's not going to be Shelvey then i think thats a great idea. We can decide on here which player who didn't feature at all or barely featured then vote for him. POTY - Chris Dickson.
Surely though they won't insult us by having one though.
Dickson as a protest at the management that has failed to at least try to use the option he gives us, Bailey if I have to pick the best of a bad bunch.

Dicko would be good but why not pick someone that has not appeared at all? Arter?
I believe the supporters club should not make a player of the season award, to let the players know what we think of their performance. Yes had on Shelvey but it will make them and the club directors think, they will see how disillusioned we are with the football that has been played this season.
Shelvey will get the Young Player of The Year, which is correct. There should be no player of the year unless some one comes through with a huge late run and we stay up.

Perhaps we could all stand outside and when the players arrive turn our backs on them in true Mighty Boosh style.
You do know Floyd and Harvey are just Martin Christensen and Dean Sinclair in dog and cat suits?
And that is quite remarkable.....
Would be great if he can manage it, not sure he will myself.

Or how about someone that left in the summer?
