  • Zheng Zhi.
  • No obvious standout candidate.

My choice would probably be Fortune thus far.
  • None deserve it & it should be scrapped this year as most have been embarrassing this season.
  • got to be who oever has played the msot games LOL

    Mark Hudson anyone :-)))))

    Nicky Bailey:-)
  • Actually if Racon had stayed fit I reckon he would be winning this one. Impressed every game I've seen him play (all 3)
  • thought about running this thread a week or so ago, simply to highlight the fact that there is not one.

Not one single contender IMO so far.
  • John Fortune

Though people also voted for McCarthy last year so probably Youga. . .
  • its got to be Kelly Youga for me for the sheer entertainment that he provides the crowd.
  • Fleetwood. Appeared in all seven pre-season friendlies, I think, and we won six of them.

Can't blame him for any of the shambles since...
  • well if the worst happens and we go down (nailed on as far as i see) maybe we should try to get "the fans" nominated as player of the year.

  • Cory Gibbs
  • Wrong, there Gooner.

    All the fans fault !!!

only the ones that didnt boo say feeeshhhh

    suzisausage it is then ;-)
  • alan pardew.... he well and truly 'played' us.... still don't hate the player hate the game
  • Nigel -------------------im not a GOONER !! there is a clue in the other part othe name.
  • I know, GH. Lazy shorthand on my part. Please forgive etc !!!
  • colin powell, awful football on a lush playing field.
  • chris powell
  • Hudson for me although purely because he is the best (sic) of an exeedingly bad bunch

Andy Gray probably is the nearest one to him although that is not saying much
  • Rob Elliot so far for me and not just cos we sponsor his shirt. Haven't seen a goal that you can blame him for (if it comes over the wall there is nothing a keeper can realistically do) and has played with confidence and a willingness to try to start attacks when he can. Considering his age, experience and the state of the team's confidence and ability that is praiseworthy.

Unless there is a sudden revival or a wonder signing I can see Elliot or Shelvey getting it this year.

    Wow, you're so *street*
  • Bouazza for me.
  • Bailey I guess or Fortune. It's tough. Hopefully someone will put a run of form in now and impress the judges like a battered boxer coming out windmilling in the 15th
  • I think the fans should get it, didn't Man City do something similar when they got relegated?
  • I think it should be the player who scores the winning goal to give us our first win since colour tv came out.....and if own goal then give it to them !!

Seconded: with all kinds of psychadelic knobs on (just to get even more attention!)
  • The way it's going it has to be Shelvey. He may have only played a couple of games but it's about doing the best job in whatever time you have. So far pound for pound, he's shown himself to be head and shoulders above the rest.

    And he's one of ours.

    Basey close second.
  • Shelvey or Matt Holland cause he Is one out of a few who give 100% everytime he plays.
  • Sam isn't doing to bad at the moment.
  • Josh Wright did very well in both his appearances, must be up there with a shout.

Seriously I'd scrap it for this season and if anyone actually pays to go to the POTY do this season they need shooting. Actually, I'd hold the do, make the players turn up but don't sell any tickets.
