  • [cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]would you remarry your ex who was clearly only interested in you as a last resort and would ship out as soon as a better offer came along? ok some shouldn't answer that but you get my meaning?

    Nice edit!! ;o)

    i don't understand,who want's pardew back?
  • i think we should have tried harder to keep curbs, we should have loved him more and made him feel more wanted rather than pining for 'the next level' and MAYBE he might've stayed
but anyway back to the present i think he'd have a better chance of keeping us up more than anyone available at present and preserving our status is the most important thing for now
  • Err...salt, pinch of. It's getting a bit heated over a piece of conjecture...
  • If this happens I will be so very very bored.
  • he he he

    ;)

Curbs - was time to move on, people and things do, deal with it folks. He could perhaps do a job for us till the end of the season but can't see him having enthusiasm for anything more than that, so no go in my view.
  • or we could just go down again and kid ourselves that parting the ways was best for all concerned.

A sweeping sentence that...how do you know what he'd be feeling....either now or then...answer you don't to be honest, that is any more than me or anyone else.
  • er cos he said premiership club
  • [cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]er cos he said premiership club

I mean how do you know what he'll be thinking at the end of a season back with us.

  • ha ha talk about splitting hairs, lol
  • and we aren't getting back into the prem this year are we??
  • razil...sorry you've lost me here...or I've lost you.
As I understand it you said perhaps he could do a job for us until the end of the season but couldn't see him having much enthusiasm after that...my question is what makes you say that?
I don't know why you keep coming up with this Premieirship comment....I'm not talking about the Prem....and as far as I could see neither were you in the post I'm referring to?

Neither did he, you did, but once you didn't he wasn't sure and then it was clear that he thought that you thought he was but he wasn't. Until he was that is.

    Hope that clears this up.

Thanks Sco...it needed someone with a clear and concise mind to sort this out!! LOL!
  • 76 posts on the topic of Aran Curbishrey and nothing from Yung 1234?

right Curbs has made it clear in the press he's only interested in managing a premiership club, hence my judgement is he would only be interested in coming back to us to help us out for a brief period (if at all).
  • OK the truth is I'm a close personal friend of Curbs and he told me all of this.

    (I'm lying of course)
  • [cite]Posted By: ThreadKiller[/cite]who would want a manager that consistently delivers a mid-table premiership side when we are spoiled with all the fun that the lower leagues can throw at us?

I think a few on here would settle for a manager that consistently delivers a mid-table championship side

    ;o)

    Oh has he?
When asked directly about his coming back to us he didn't exactly say no and left the possibility open to an extent...he was somewhat vague to say the least but it deffo wasn't a NO WAY reply to the question when asked.....this would have been a few days after Pardews departure if I'm not mistaken.
  • If Curbishley doesn't get the Sunderland job, assuming he wants it, one possiblity is Pompey as I think Adams is skating on thin ice already there. I work with a Wycombe fan who is firmly of the opinion Adams will walk anyway as he did up there. If those two don't come to pass, Curbs may look at us or Ipswich. I personally think it's never a good idea to go back and it may be he sees our current state as unsalvageable, although if he signed until the end of the season he'd be in a no lose situation.
  • I don't really imagine him coming back unless we were coming in to big money.

There you go what odds for a CAFC takeover with Curbs becoming manager. Massive I would think, but you never know, stranger things have happened in football before.

Myself and MariaCAFC have had this conversation, January 1st - press conference at The Valley, with Zabeel people announcing they've bought the club and Curbs installed as manager. Zabeel saying that they 'pulled out' because of the press intrusion when in reality they were waiting for the dust to settle and for the hacks to feck off.

yeah but the football might not be exciting enough for some... don't go back ... blah blah blah ...
  • Don't forget that Mervyn Day will stroll back in the door right behind Mr Curbishley. Do you think if he did come back he would keep Parky or kinsella to replace keith peacock. Forward planning is very important. Would anyone like to put their curbishley hat on and supposing he did come back have a stab at picking his first XI selected.

    Holland would be in
    Hudson
Youga would get the konchesky treatment
What would he make of moo2kill

    Questions questions questions

Does anyone think curbs or day are Charlton Lifers?
