Stewards last night

Came into the upper north and pulled out 3 young lads in front on me, 2 minutes later the 3 lads come back in, followed by the stewards. Who then went a few rows infront of the lads and pulled out another 3 young lads. 2 minutes later they came back in.
What were the stewards up to?

• I think it was something to do with the Okey Cokey - You put your whole self in....Whole self out...in..out..in..out...shake it all about! ;o)
• alien snatchers ?
• Unreal

I really think our stewards are poor

afetr 3 were moved last week from seven empty seats
• I believe its to do with stewards giving warnings to some younger fans over certain issues, such as poor behaviour and underage drinking. The drinking thing is apparently a bit of a problem.
• What !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stewards warning kids about drinking FFS it gets worse.
• was trying to work that out as well Guinness. The three they pulled out were floppy haired 16yr olds who had sat there not saying a word.
Only think i could 'guess' would be if something was dropped / thrown into the lower tier, but they really couldn't have looked three more harmless kids.

Noticed a lot more stewards about the upper north last night for some reason.

All 6 lads didn't seem to do anything wrong, as for underage drinking, don't serve them if you think that they are under 18. Can't blame the lads for trying to get a beer.

I was told last night that adults are buying beers for kids and there's been quite a few complaints from other fans, which was why there were little posse's of stewards wandering round on the lookout for inebriated youths!
• complaints from other fans my ar3e !

Considering the fact you're not allowed a beer when in your seat, surely they should be on the lookout for underage drinkers on the concourse rather than plucking kids out of the crowd for a "talking to"...

• If your are 16 you can have a beer with a meal in a restaurant, perhaps they should have got a pie along with the beer. ;-)
• Face it THE Stewards (not OUR stewards) who work at The Valley are complete ***ts as a whole and are not happy unless they have ejected at least one victim per game.
• I've asked about this, see what response I get and I'll let you know

The stewards were on the concourse of the Lower North before and during the game. Funnily enough there were no proper stewards on the Lower north gates last night, which i thought would have been more important. I don't know what happened with the youngsters upstairs but if someone reminds me before the Boxing day game i should be able to find out.

if there is only 15 mins to do so, maybe they ran out of time to speak to all then maybe they have to take people out during the game. i saw people arguing with stewards at half time as they wanted to go out for a cig. people do complain about others wrongdoing. all the time.

someone was smoking near me in L block but i couldn't pin point who it was. can't say i'd snitch them up but would give them an evil look!
• Steward in the west upper told a guy to sit as people at the back couldnt see.
The steward was laughed at, there must have been a dozen empty rows behind this guy.
• should start laying the stewards off i say they are useless
• Probaly trying to justify their jobs.

Way things are going there will be more stewards at the valley than supporters soon.
• i heard they have layed off some staff at the valley last night
•
[cite]Posted By: Tavern[/cite]i heard they have layed off some staff at the valley last night
Yeah i heard a couple of days ago there was plans for some lay offs.

Yet again the ordinary Charlton people suffer whilst Bouazza earns a small fortune for practically nothing.

Lucky Fulham are paying his wages then
• Didn't realise that.............OK McLeod then :-)
• anyone that shops one of our own for something other than a grave matter like racism etc. shouldn't be allowed back themselves to be honest. why aren't they worried enough about events on the pitch to not notice a couple of young herberts and bother to go and have a word with a steward?
• Pity the over keen stewards don`t stop smoking in the bogs !

lol
• I dunno, people complained about the searches, but there were people walking in with bottle openers, and all kinds of friendly little things with sharp ends, and recently someone was spotted swinging for a wine bottle in the North Upper.

Little things I know, but them the rules.
