Why? Please explain, 'cos it is weird to me. Anyone who knows, knows Millwall have always been the enemy, and always will. I even understand disliking West Ham more, at least they're relatively close. If it was the groundshare thing, that is history now, why the lasting resentment? Why give such insignificant, identityless fans an ego boost by hating their silly, meaningless club? I only hate Palace when we're playing them, then no moreso than say, QPR, or Fulham (when we were in the Premiership). It's just a London Derby, not the proper, Local Derby for CAFC. At least not for me it isn't, anyway.[/quote]
You make it sound as if Millwall give two hoots about Charlton? All they care about is West Ham, occasionally Palace and the "naughty" teams when they get to play them.
I don't hate Charlton like a rival either though to be fair. I live in Hove so naturally the biggest enemy is Brighton and that will never change. After all that's happened between us over the last few years, you'll have to excuse as laughing at your demise unless you do what Dowie did for us in 03/04.[/quote]
Oh, Millwall care, believe me. They only say otherwise as a wind-up. Why do they cheer when a bad result for CAFC is announced at the Den? Why do they try getting in Charlton faces when they see us at London Bridge? They care. As I say palace fans are an irritant, nothing more. Don't care if you drown in your own piss at our troubles, infact you'd be doing the football scene in south London a favour if you did!
[cite]Posted By: stoneroses19[/cite]Well anyone here who moans about our attendence should put the palace game on now, looks like about 3000 people, and im not exaggerating.

to answer some earlier replies - I started this post to say that there are bigger things to sending palace down, ie our own problems and when fans start making fun at other fans plight you have to remember that these things have a habit of rebounding on you,
Asos to polo - yes I did want Curbs to go, but only because he was playing negative, boring football (whivh W/Ham fans soon to a dislike to) and that after 15 years he had got a bit stale. Twice recently i've heard on Radio 5 commentators say taht Charlton fans wanted Curbs to go beacuse the fans wanted the club to go the the next level (whatever that is) and he couldn't do it.
What rubbish.
If you read his autobiography (and since he wrote it I asume it must be true) he left us because he didn't want to sign a longer contract and wanted to see out the year he had left. Richard Murray wanted stability and wanted players coming in to know the manager was here for the long term. curbs couldn;t do that & so they came to an agreement. Nothing to do with the fans full stop,
In hindsight (and i bet Murray agrees with this) it would have been better keeping Curbs for that extra year, probably staying up, and then finding a new manager.
He did leave Dwie with a pile of dross though & any new manager needed to spend big to strengten the squad. Don't forget , we had a midfield combination of Holland and Hughes at the time
[cite]Posted By: son of selhurst[/cite]Whats going on with the title of this thread??? One of you appears to have managed to spell Palace...........without the "arse".
Or are you all a little sensitive about references to BOTTOM ;-)
No, it's just that there are plenty enough arses in Norwood, Thornton Heath and Croydon not to have to continually spell it that way. Most have a penchant for wearing red and blue stripes, for some peculiar reason.
to be fair, they played really well last night, made southampton look like a conference team, puts are 0-0 into perspective... few chants of down with the Charlton near the end so they must care about us after all.

That's questionable Ledge, by the end of this season we could be south london's 3rd best.
