I've had enough

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
I walked out after their FIFTH and I'm not going back again until Pardew goes. I've had enough. Shoot me down. Slag me off but I don't care anymore.

    I don't think you'll be alone.

Pardew has to go, the question is, when, and who'll replace him.
  • Billy Davies for me
  • Out of the frying pan and into ........salvation or a Les Reed wannabee?
  • He'll be gone soon, and as much as I'm not a big fan of his, I have a some sympathy for him.

The players also have to take a large part of the blame, but until Pardew goes, he'll get nearly all the flak.

Hopefully we'll get the 'Redknapp effect', because at the moment we look to be in big trouble.
  • 6 weeks back was siting in Dhoa reading about us going 2 be the 2nd richest team in the World and playing silly mental games about who we might buy. Today we have no money and are looking down the barrels of the religation shot gun, with the wan**r who has put us there waiting for a golden hand shake before he walks away.------------------------------football stinks sometimes.
  • me too, walked out as the 5th hit the back of the net. we are in BIG trouble!!
  • large demonstration outside the West Stand, singing for Pards to walk. The sarcastic clap to the fans after the game was the final insult.
  • Summed it up well GH.

Talk about ups and f**kin downs.

Well, at least its not boring - we could support someone in the top 4!
  • Well i made the right choice then didnt i.

Went round Foxhills Bernad Hunt Course in 109 my best before that was 124, i have had great company and loved my day out.

I aint going back until that big nosed bstds out

i want anyone to spin me some sunshine on what was served up in SE7 from the leave poor pardew alone brigade, you lot arnt proper fans brigade the it is the fans fault brigade

you have all got to wake the feck up smell the coffee

by the way i am glad it was 5 because now he has no choice the decision MUST be taken from him

The Board of CAFC do your job and get rid now I understand you are having an emergancy board meeting and you know what to do

  • Walked myself after the fith so can only really comment on the the first 53mins. I didn't think we were 3-1 worse in the first half. The goal just before half-time killed us.

Having said that we have conceded from 3 set pieces again - we were told we would be fine after Linvoy came back into the side. Hmmmm.....

There was a moment just after the fourth goal that summed it up for me. As the players walked back to restart Holland, Hudson & I think lloyd Sam all looked towards the bench - clearly looking for some direction/instruction. Pardew turned his back on them.

To sum up we look incapable of keeping a clean sheet, we are not being linked with anything to reinforce our piss poor midfield, we create very few chances so won't score no matter who is up front.

I actually feel sorry for Weaver. He is being cruxified today because of what happened last week. yes he looked to flap on the 3rd goal, but was he fouled?.

    Anyway, not really important.

Until the man at the top is removed nothing will change. We are in big big trouble. I've said it before, but the thing that worries the most is that Pardew has made me not care anymore. I can't be bothered to rant and rave.

Will I go to the Southampton game? Probably. Will I still be in the ground after 70mins?. Probably not.
  • I will still go, even if it is to only sing Charlton til I die and the old player songs.
  • good for you mate the only reason i wont go is because i dont want to get nicked and i would loose the plot if i see any more of the spineless drivel that is being served

It was strange, not the anger that was there at the Barnsley game, the fans seemed too fed up to boo, just singing old Charlton songs and thinking of a better time!
  • so the fans wernt to blame, thats one less excuse we will have served up by Pards and many more on here
  • that was a dreadful, dreadful performance - absolutely shocking.

the man has to go. no ifs, no buts. that was an absolute f*cking joke. i'm embarrassed.

His ironic clap to the fans was it for me, he has to go, now!
  • stayed till the bitter end, Only around 4,000 left in the ground come the final whistle.

probably around 300 outside the west stand entrance protesting. How long are they going to leave it before it actually starts getting organised, then growing significantly in numbers ?

Convinced he will be gone this weekend.
  • I wonder how long they will stay there for, I left after 10 mins of anti Pards pro Charlton songs? When they sang sack the board it was time to leave.
  • They sang sack the board now that is bollox,

but understandable in some ways sad day bad times ahead

  • i wouldn't focus on that, that never happened the ten minutes i saw. It was all Pardew Out, CTID, and VFR that i was seeing.
  • Yup, going to be a stormy Christmas, we look to have thrown the towel in.
  • Smudge how bad was it you give a fairly objective view your hurting as much if not more than me was it worse than Barnsley

am i wrong to have wanted that hiding today to take the decision from him
  • It was better than the Barnsley game but the truth is this team just cant defend and our confidence is so so fragile that if anything goes wrong then the game is up. I have no idea what needs to be done. to be honest. Pardew must carry most blame but my god these are pro footballers who are letting us all down as well.
  • I'm beyond anger to be honest NLA, i spent the 2nd half having a laugh and chat with mates. My fury went after the Barnsley game, it was nailed on to me what needed to be done and it wasn't.

What i find slightly ironic is the 'i trust the board' view. Its a hugely admirable view, but sadly its completely misplaced. People are basing that on the past, effectively i trust the way Murray / Varney combo run our club. Neither are pulling the strings now, the club is being run very differently. The Murray /Varney combo would have brought in change after the Barnsley game, not waited till now.

Trying to be objective, i didn't actually think there was that much in the game. They seemed to score every time they attacked, in the first half we had two chances, both from free kicks from identical positions. Open play we had absolutely nothing, had Gray up front on his own and were launching 40-yard balls to him. How we conceded 5 goals with such a defensive line up i'll never know. Player wise, i thought Bailey came away with some credit.
  • We have had numerous hidings this season. The only thing missing from those games were the goals against. Nothing I hasten to add to do with our own defending, opposition ineptitude.

I have to say I don't disagree with his 4-5-1 at the moment. When you are in this sort of run the first thing you need to do is become compact, unfortunately we can't do it. We are rudderless and drifting towards the rocks.

Thankfully this is a very very long season and we still have time to turn it round. Mid table would be a miracle given the current crap on show.

We will die a long drawn out death if he remains.

If we go down again, financially we are staring into the abyss.
  • I'm with you Valley Mc C

Three home games ago i said I wouldnt go again until we have a change of manager.
Decision made based on lack of guts, tactics or substitutional nouse, but swayed by being told not to shout 'Pardew out' by the brain dead in the lower east stand.
There is no way back with him in charge.
    I
  • Sorry AFKA but I have to disagree. From where I was sitting in the first half Bailey was so far off the pace it was shocking.

Not blaming him as such, but I think that "credit" was pretty thin on the ground today.
  • NSS rang me he said we are playing 4-5-1 at home, i gather the man who has not trained all week was upfront on his own, the boy we bought in to strengthen the team couldnt oust him.

i can not see him coming back from this but this is his thoughts on the performance

    from OS

"Our message to the supporters is quite simple; we have to do a lot, lot better,” he said. "The results have been disappointing. We've put in another poor performance at home, we look short of confidence here and that resulted in ugly goals. You're always chasing the game and then people start doing things they wouldn't do.

"But I've been through tough times before. At every club I've been at I've had that scenario. The Championship is a division where managers are always in danger. How I deal with it is to be strong in my mind and strong in my decision making. It doesn't affect me on the sideline. In some ways the fans venting their anger at me is better for the players.”

He continued: "Of course I fear for my position when the results have been so poor. My ego isn't that big but I still believe in what I can do.

"My record coming to this club has been good but it's been difficult here. When I arrived they were on the slide and I haven't been able to stop that.

"We're in a sticky situation and I have to accept whatever decision is made. In terms of this week we have put every effort in and it hasn't worked out.”
  • That last sentence makes it seem like he's accepted the inevitable. F***ing hope so anyway
