  • [cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]Hales aint no fan of CAFC.

I've already said you wouldn't know it if he was...his character doesn't lend itself to praise and glorification of anything, let alone The Addicks. In fact he'd go out of his way to convince you otherwise and the more he does the more I'm convinced that's NOT the case.
  • Matthew Walker, D'oh !
Thats just not cricket is it............

    Gooner.
  • Sound As fella ur wrong i know for a fact he aint !
  • Well, he certainly turns up at events for which he doesn't get paid a brass farthing and talks very passionately about the club without actually indicating he follows the clubs fortunes (for example a year or two back at a Bromley SC meeting) and if you'd seen him out on the pitch in front of the crowd at some of these guest appearances where he has a tear in his eye it's plainly obvious.....he has an ongoing luv hate relationship with The Addicks..... I'm certain.
  • best to leave it there then, i know what i know as said to me by him.

PS i was in the 3,000 crowd against Halifax at The Valley when he scored 3 times on a wet tuesday night mate.
  • I met Jonjo Shelveys grandad once in Malta who said he and Jonjo's Dad are massive Charlton Fan's

  • Please don't all shoot me for saying this - Curbs on Goals on Sunday this week was talking very fondly about Charlton. So much so, he got us mixed up and called us West Ham once or twice! I think we are winning him over...
  • I played alongside Oggy Red twice!
  • Garry Nelson
  • [cite]Posted By: RedArmySE7[/cite]I played alongside Oggy Red twice!

    LOL!

What an honour. Bask in your new found fame ........(!)

    ;o)
  • Isn't Jimmy Bullard a Addick? Maybe i dreamt it!
  • [cite]Posted By: RedArmySE7[/cite]I played alongside Oggy Red twice!

Can top that, played in the same side as RedArmySE7 and Oggy, RedArmy scored a screamer as well!

    And alongside JonJo's uncle .........

Red Army's goal was a top corner belter from just outside the box.

  • Might I add that playing alongside T.C.E was a massive learning curve for me, I took more from that than I have in a long time! :o)
  • But did you see how Gumbo effortlessly carves out chances?
  • edited November 2008
After two losses though, I feel we need to start playing our best team!
  • This threads gone downhill rapidly! I'm sorry but Beckham and Gumbo should never be mentioned in the same place...ever! :o)
  • Sack the manager, he was full of spin. He must have used about 10 subs and was tactically naive.

Why not? They've both got a 'b' and an 'm' in their names.
  • Andy Turner, formerly of Spurs & Pompey was an Addick. Last seen playing for Chasetown in the FA cup last year. Bizarrely, I've seen Bruce Dyer down there a couple of times with a bloke wearing a Charlton baseball cap who I assume's his dad. Wasn't Ernie Cooksie (RIP) one of us too?
  • Jimmy Bullards family are from Bexleyheath, met his dad once, he has said in interviews that most of his mates are Addicks, not sure about him though.
