I've already said you wouldn't know it if he was...his character doesn't lend itself to praise and glorification of anything, let alone The Addicks. In fact he'd go out of his way to convince you otherwise and the more he does the more I'm convinced that's NOT the case.
Well, he certainly turns up at events for which he doesn't get paid a brass farthing and talks very passionately about the club without actually indicating he follows the clubs fortunes (for example a year or two back at a Bromley SC meeting) and if you'd seen him out on the pitch in front of the crowd at some of these guest appearances where he has a tear in his eye it's plainly obvious.....he has an ongoing luv hate relationship with The Addicks..... I'm certain.
Please don't all shoot me for saying this - Curbs on Goals on Sunday this week was talking very fondly about Charlton. So much so, he got us mixed up and called us West Ham once or twice! I think we are winning him over...
[cite]Posted By: RedArmySE7[/cite]This threads gone downhill rapidly! I'm sorry but Beckham and Gumbo should never be mentioned in the same place...ever! )
Why not? They've both got a 'b' and an 'm' in their names.
Andy Turner, formerly of Spurs & Pompey was an Addick. Last seen playing for Chasetown in the FA cup last year. Bizarrely, I've seen Bruce Dyer down there a couple of times with a bloke wearing a Charlton baseball cap who I assume's his dad. Wasn't Ernie Cooksie (RIP) one of us too?
