Van Nistelrooy visited The Valley on a few ocassions during his youth with friends from London who were/are Addicks and lived in the area....might be stretching it a bit to actually call him a fan.
The legend re Van Nis was he used to come to The Valley when we used to get visited by a coach load of Feyenord fans . The fans where there defo had a few beers with them several times--- never sure if the bit about him coming over was bool*x tho.
Theo Foley has a huge affection for us...as of course does Eddie Firmani....Derek Ufton...John Hewie..... Freddie Lucas and Harry Gregory...not sure you can call them fans as such but they certainly follow us.
Im not sure you can say Halesy is a fan to be honest, follows us/does a bit of hospitality...I sat next to him against Burnley, lot of banter, but Im not 100% convinced myself.

I can confirm he is not fussed about us at all
Played golf with him and after 4.5 hours of chatting to him can safely say he is not hugely fussed with Charlton t all. More keen on the Gills but not to the point he would call himself a fan to be honest
By no means all, but many ex-players look out for the results of their old clubs, long after they've moved on or retired.
Don't know if you can truly call them supporters but for some of them, there's a little place in their heart for Charlton.
But I guess we're mainly referring to boyhood fans who later went on to play pro?
I can confirm Simon Tracey, ex Wimbledon and sheff Utd keeper as a Charlton fan. He was bought up in Belvedere and I played cricket with him at Belvedere cc. He also got is tickets when we played at plough lane the first time, though he didn t realise we would go in their end. Other than that Gordon Watson is the only other one I know of, not very impressive and shows the missing generation effect of the years at shithurst and wet sham.

Derek is one of those fellas who likes to be different and a bit contrary by nature...he loves the club but just wont allow his 'hard man I don't give a shyte' exterior to show it....for Derek saying he likes anything is a bit of an effort to be honest he simply revels in showing the pessimistic take on life....but underneath it all (as is often the way with that type of character), there's a great luv affair going on between Derek and The Addicks....I'll bet you anything you like....though he's 'never' likely to come out and say so.
I have this said before and it may well be right. what is clear is that like the prodigal striker he returned and finished his career for us bar a sojourn down the A2 for a season. He keeps coming back - to me that sounds like he's a fan.
