I love the sound of all of this...wish I could be there, because I really hope and believe that the atmosphere will be critically important, one way or the other, and based upon what I'm reading, it'll be wonderful...
with regards to the atmosphere at games, i do think that the "singers" should congregate near the the away fans, maybe the east stand because that creates banter and atmosphere. at palace their pathetic ultras are next to the the away end. at sheff wednesday, there singers are on the stand adjacent to the away stand. ive sat in the east a few times and thought that the north upper singing section was more like a library because i couldnt hear them during the game. but then iv sat in north upper and the atmospher was brilliant. especially as the acoustics in the north are awful.
Well done lads and lasses. I am disappointed but heartened by the spirit shown on the life tonight. I for one will be singing loud and proud on Saturday.
The failure of the takeover is huge for us, and everybody connected with the club is going to be absolutely gutted. The way the club reacts now, however, could easily determine our future for many years to come. If disappointment takes over, there could be a massive hangover & we could slide away into Division 1 with little fight from anybody. The alternative is to rekindle the old siege mentality & battle our hearts out to show we are worthy of playing in the Premiership.
The directors, the management, the coaches, the players & the supporters must all now pull together & get this club performing at a much better level. The alternative doesn't actually bear thinking about!!
We're not talking about ditching the Red Red Robin, Len ...... but getting the loud rock music (which actually quietens the crowd and stops them singing), finishing earlier to let the crowd sing and get back the pre-match buzz we used to have before.

Fair enough if that is the case. I got the impresssssion people were calling for RRR to go which I regard as sacred.
You can stick your Dubai millions up your arse You can stick your Dubai millions up you arse You can stick your Dubai million up your arse Stick your Dubai millions, stick your Dubai Millions up your arse We're Charlton
Before kick off and then a following of
We don't need no Dubai Millions We don't need no dodgy Sheiks Oi Varney just score a bloody goal
With Zabeel pulling out it's just the type of situation that can galvanise a group of fans to pull in the same direction, rather than getting on players backs anger is directed towards a third party. If people go in with a 'their loss' attitute rather than a "we're doomed" it will rub off on others. There are a lot of 'followers' at charlton, a lot of Kids and casual support that follow what others do - such as booing players. Give them a flag to follow in this case the Dubai lot pulling out, and they'll follow. But it's upto to the tradtional leaders in the Upper North to lead and let others follow...
Sounds like more drums could be made available if we can locate people who can actually play them......Also the roaming thing is a possibilty...Ive spoken to the club and just emailed AFKA to see if he knows the guys. Reserves....do you actually have a drum.....let me know mate.
There is a lot of noise from this site about raising the atmosphere on saturday but I Lifers will only amount to a fraction of the number attending the match. We need to let everyone know what we are trying to do. I suggest we start sending out texts or emails which includes a message to forward it on to all Addicks.......what do ya think.....any mileage..?

Dont move the drums! Just get more.
Valley floyd road idea before the kick off is a good one, My scarf idea will work? everyone can join in with that.
Perhaps, in the mould of the "stop smoking classes" the club offers, they should do "support your team properly" educational classes for "fans" who boo the team off. I couldn't help but notice that Nicky Weaver is actually Tubes in a Charlton kit....perhaps he could do a rap before the game. Don't think it would fire us up but it would be funny all the same.

You're making me quite emotional.
I salute you all.
Pssssssh .... there goes the sound of the first fan trying to puncture our bubble of new spirit
I like that alot.

Red Red Robin not Valley Floyd Road is our song before kick off.
Don't let disappointment with the lack of takeover take away our traditional identity.

Good luck
They may also take some persuading on the roaming idea.Great idea if you can get them to agree to.
I meant just as we kick off.
Yeah, are you up for it? If so we'll try and get the broken drum in the lock up fixed for you to bang.
Can't I just bring my own?
Even better.

However, same old charlton, nothing will be done.
