  • Paul Walsh - Shrewsbury at home late 70s, I think, end Sept and the first game we won that season (we got relegated...). He wore a long sleeve shirt, but the sleeves were too long for him...and he was quite cute then;-)
  • franny jeffers.
    im a jcl
  • Linvoy Primus.
  • Didn't Pringle save us on his against Newcastle??
  • Danny Mills at Crewe was quality, and he scored.
  • Darren Bent

I was at his debut at the Dell v Southampton and remember the buzz as a lot of people thought he was going to be the business!
  • Shaun Bartlett

    Darren Bent
I would also say Alan Simonsen

Blimey yeah. That was the 3-3 with Man Utd wasn't it? Take some beating I reckon.

JJ made a big impact on his too, coming on as sub and equalising at home to Southampton in a night match. I think we were down to 10 men too.

  • Alan Simonsen for me...he was two passes in front of the other 21 on the pitch, pure class
  • Was it Colin Hendry who scored that goal (for us at Upton Park against Millwall) a debut?
  • Darren Bent, with that cracking opener at the Stadium of Light.
Danny Mills, scoring after about 5 minutes at Crewe.

    John Hendry?
  • Simonsen. It was like he was playing a completely different sport.

Recently, you'd be hard pressed to top Gary Poole's, simply because of that howitzer from about 35 yards.

Kevin nicholls' full debut was pretty special too, he scored a cracker after about 2 minutes then ran his bollocks off all game.
  • thats it, although he was on loan, he didnt read the script and we beat them for the first time in my life!
  • We looped for ages when that flew in! Poor Millwall!
  • Michael Proctor - two goals and he wasn't even wearing our shirt.
  • Would prob have to go with Shaun Bartlett (too).

Maybe one day I can say Jonjo's at Barnsley! What a game that was haha
  • One that sticks in the mind was Eddie Youds.

He battered Forest single handed and took no sh*t.

Jim Melrose too. Vs Norwich at Sellout.

    2 perfectly timed signings.

  • Taher El Khalej

Oops - that's the worst f**king debut. I still have nightmares about it.
  • or we had Millwall helping us out....lol

Was the manure 3-3 his actual debut or had he made substitute appearances?
  • i can still see it now they made their charge from the away end when we got the 2nd about 40 of them, across the east mad days!lol
Crowd that day was a bumper 11000 odd if remember correct.
They were singing what a waste of money about Simo.
They brought about 500 odd that day and had a coach of lads that went via shepheards bush to get some clobber. They called themselves the boro front line.
I read in some silly book they swelled our crowd that day because we were playing them!eer no i think our m8 Simo had something to do with that!lol
  • Phil Chappel goal and head bandged.

Chris Jones, quality performance and goal ...
  • Jorge Costa - announced his arrival in the Prem by clattering Hasslebaink

Think Bartlett against Man Utd was his 2nd game for us, i'm sure he came off the bench in the match before
  • jonjo's home debut against coventry takes some beating.

Seen so many debuts hard to bloody remember.
