    aGUERA
    MESSI
    RONALDO

    LOL
  • Jonathon Ackworth will be rubbing his hands together.

We'll have the funds to buy MILLIONS of non-league players !!!
  • HAHAHAHAHAHA
  • I know of a little fat Irish lad who might be good!

    Andrew

    Lives in Sunderland
  • just for NSS why dont we get rommerdahl back
  • If it goes through our team could potentially be:

    Cech
    Alves Cannavaro Rio Evra
    Messi Gattusso Xavi Kaka
    Torres McLeod

    ;-)
  • Pardew's got his work cut out to get us in contention by the January Window. I just hope this inspires EVERYONE and we get some decent support on the road. I'm half tempted to get down to Cardiff.
  • players at club now playing for their places and the chance to play along some potentially huge names in football

lets see how motivated they are now
  • RE-SIGN DARREN AMBROSE ON A LONG TERM DEAL

    Are you reading this Darren?

    *raspberry*
  • Good point nla. Still plenty of games before january for them to stake a claim. Truth is for many of them I dont think they have it !

  • how about somebody who can play football

    :-)
  • If anything does go through, deals could be done straight away on loan with a view to a permanent and to be honest January would probably be a bit late to sign players with the inevitable settling in period. Wouldn't be suprised to see a couple of decent loan players come in such as the likes Nugent at Pompey.

John Terry then stick him in the reserves

the whole goonershit team and stick em on the woolwich ferry

all of the Wet Spam team let em go weeding on the streets in Kidbrooke
  • We don't wanna do a Simonsen. Buy a Kaka and play the thoroughbred with some of the donkeys that we have at the moment.
  • like kaka with kak you mean VFR ?
  • hopefully we are entering an exciting era where we can buy the likes of Darren Bent, Madjid Bougherra and Andy Reid.
  • Who ever we sign, just remember we can turn anyone into a Charlton Player!
(crouches down with arms covering head)
  • Baby Bent would top the list for me....bring the lad home
  • Carl Tiler
    Dennis Rommedahl
    Danny Murphy
    Ralph Milne
    Francis Jeffers
  • Amdy Faye
    Greg Halford
    Cranie
    Rommedahl
    Big Bent

  • If Pards is not given a proper chance then I will be truly worried. That would mean imho that the new people are not going to do things the Charlton way and are just going to do exactly what they want with litle or no regard for the club as was.
  • Well Ken I think that Pardew is the manager we chose and under the circumstances he has had to work under with the sales etc I think we owe him a season or two longer.
  • I think that you're all getting far too carried away. This is an investment company who are more likely to do things slowly and surely. They're into making money not throwing it around and wasting it.
QPR were taken over last year and people were making similar predictions for them.
  • Thats true I guess but it might depend on whether they see Charlton as a corporate toy or really do see it as a money making investment which to me seems nieve at best. They will want prem football sooner rather than later whichever is the case.

Of course they see it as a money making investment - unfortunately. Good for us in the short term (5-10 years) but very bad in the long term (20 years).
  • Explain please
  • [cite]Posted By: ShootersHillGuru[/cite]Explain please

Ok, I might sound contradictory here so i'll explain.
Firstly, in the very short term (1-2 years) I don't think we're going to be splashing the cash as people on here seem to expect.
In the short term (5-10 years) I reckon we'll be successful regaining our Premiership status etc.
In the long term I think they sell the club at a profit (being that they see the club as an investment) at which point we could be in all sorts of turmoil.
In addition we may in the meanwhile sell the ground and move to Kent.

I know I sound negative but I'm just balancing out the ridiculously over-positive posts on here. Why is everyone getting so excited about something which could be (and I hope I'm wrong) bad news in the long term for the club?
  • No not Pardew as he has made some poor purchases....what about DiCanio as a manager?....would be fun
