Hudson my MotM nothing got past him. Everyone tried hard. Semedo which much better than Cranie. He also had a shot and for a moment I thought I might witness a Semedo goal :-O
Good game to watch, both sides tried to play football in windy conditions and we edged it over the 90 mins.
Good save from Weaver from the header but not much else to do other than watch the ball hit the bar twice.
We had the rub of the green with what looked like a soft free kick for the goal and then the own goal but it's about time.
Losing Bailey really showed how much we need him there. Semedo did well when coming on and showed, IMHO, that he should have come on in the middle instead of Holland.
Primus and Hudson did OK, Youga was aggressive and tried to link up with Bouazza. Buzz was frustrating but sort of scored and was dangerous.
Cranie didn't look terrible but he wasn't great and Jose was a big improvement. Even got forward well which is not really his game.
Zi Zi started well, lost the plot a bit when Bailey went off, did some good stuff but looked like a player just back from injury who tired quickly. Same for Toddy.
Varney was my MOTM. Working so hard up front, might have got a pen (was it inside or out anyone?) while Ambrose did some good stuff.
Gray did OK when he came on.
Was good that for once we didn't look under huge pressure in the last 10 mins when winning.
Campo is still class. Interesting that we stood off and tried to block the recipiants rather than close him down after Bailey went off. Good that Lisbie got more claps than boos.
A few people booed around me at half time. Why? We were doing OK and not losing. Seems it is a habit.
20600 ish crowd. More Ipswich than Sheff Wed but looked like less Charlton as well. Maybe a few season ticket holders didn't turn up but still got counted.
The Ref was just odd. Buzz's booking was fair enough but nothing for the foul on Varney when he was breaking into the box.
Not all doom and gloom and no defeat to moan about so I guess there will be few posts on this thread. Not a convincing win but a good win all the same. Onward and hopefully upward.
[cite]Posted By: Brunello[/cite]Your comments only go to confirm what I have thought for a while and that is you and I watch completely different games.
Did I miss something here? Is there some sort of childish row going on between you and Irving? because, between you, me and the goalpost, I think he's got that as pretty close to spot on as its possible to get.
The only two things I may disagree with there are that I thought Gray was slightly better than 'OK' after coming on - I thought he was good, and that i wouldn't say Ipswich tried to play too much football - they were poor compared to many of the recent tractor boys teams I've seen at the Valley.
BTW, I'm discounting Chirpy's comments because he posts even more bollocks than I do

Once again Leroy, I bow and worship at your knee. You are right. But, more worringly, I seem to be agreeing with Henry - which is surely not right!
(PS. I HAVE had a drink, but I believe my comments - this instance - are not contentious)
Spot on Hen and Leroy, although I'd say that Semedo's hustle down the right was great and he actually managed a couple of in-box crosses which puts him in the top 10 of our greatest ever wingers, so while I'd have much rather seen him, than Holland I think that the match bore out the manager's judgement. Having supported it until now though, I'd be disappointed if the Crainey experiment doesn't end and Jose isn't given a chance.
I've played at a decent level (not that this means you can interpret the game well or badly - see Lawro if you need examples).

How so? Other than Holland it is almost exactly what you posted on another thread.

Don't worry Leroy it is a childish row but quite harmless. But I am right and he's wrong ; - )

Firstly apologies for having an opinion.
My thoughts were based on
I didnt think Ipswich came to play football I thought they were unusually petulant and nasty
I didnt think we had the rub of the green as everything seeemd to go Ipswichs way in terms of decisions
I thought that making the point about Semedo should have played in the middle was strange given he was one of our best players at right back and Holland did very well when he came on.
I thought Hudson was fantastic not just ok
I dont agree Campo looked class I thought he looked pedestrian.
Only my views but sorry again if I had a different opinionj from the supporters director. And no it isnt a childish row, he and I know each other relatively well.

Have a safe trip Tel. Keep in touch mate.
Goodnight fellow happy addicks
Cranie goes off apparently Semedo had a blinder. Hopefully Pardew will see that and drop Cranie and allow one of OUR better players to get a game.
UP THE ADDICKS

I very much doubt that.

Last night several beers in Patong, nowhere near the internet, and we win.
