Pardew : Prem It wasnt his fault we went down. The way the club was set up after Curbs went and Dowies signings did that.
Last Season Im sure we all felt he and Parkie had the right experince to get us back up. I was surprised at the way he went about his signings, but hey give him a chance. It wasnt his fault about Reid, we were offered the money and the board said yes. They way we fell away and the place we finished , his tactics and team just not right at all. We were poor including him. At the Share Holders meeting when he was asked what he thought of Pardew Murray even said he thought Pardew was alittle arrogant. Ok he also said he thought u had to be to deal with todays players, but thats another area Pards comes over as bad he looks "above it all".
This Season Ok im sure no one expected the sales of the players to happen the way they did . Twaty Bent and UseLess faye taking their time and not much dosh screwed things up. Pardew cant see that his teams lack grit (not steve) and look unbalanced. Curbs said his own biggest fault was loyalty to certain players, Pardew mirrors it.
cant see this guy ever geting us up. He needs to take a look at himself and his overall tactics they aint good enough.
Henry Irving I beleive that Pardew has lost the majority of fans. I base this comment from being made at the match last night. I also base this assumption from the group of people that I watch games with (all of the sixteen people want Pardew out) and from reading sites like this where people are making their feelings known.
Clearly the board will need to take decisive action while there is still time and my feeling is that the club will only allow this debacle to continue for a few more games.
of course tho just cos the moaners shout louder/post more doesn't mean they are in the majority, and even if they are in the majority doesn't mean they're right or wrong in fact
Razil, are you smoking the jazz fags!!! lol "of course tho just cos the moaners shout louder/post more doesn't mean they are in the majority, and even if they are in the majority doesn't mean they're right or wrong in fact"
Pardoo will never walk so we are stuck with him.
I think he has lost the majority of the support now.
Harry Hill would know how to settle this. . . . FIGHT!

OK, that's your belief and your entitled to it. Not quite the same as stating it as an absoloute fact though which is what surprised me. This board or a small group of fans is not a representative sample. I actually agree that it appears more and more people want to see Pardew go but then again I was amazed at how long a honeymoon he got when he came. If we did the poll after the Reading game how many people would have wanted him out? So if we beat Ipswich will the % who want him out change again.
You say that the board "clearly" need to take "decisive" action "while there is still time". When does this time run out? November 5th? if so why then?
And couldn't decisive action be keeping Pardew on in the same way that Curbs wasn't sacked when Gritt went or when we had poor seasons under him in the 90s? Or to use another example when Ferguson was kept on at United?
Derek Chappell has just said that he is staying. OK we can all be cynical and say "he would say that, wouldn't he" or "we can't afford to sack him" but maybe he actually means it. We shall see.
The next time we enjoy a fabulous, decisive and historic victory, I wonder if Billericay Dickie will emerge from the shadows to praise the team and manager to the skies, perhaps STARTING THE THREAD IN CAPITAL LETTERS?
Thought not, especially considering he's visited this site 3 times since March and this is his first post.
You won't work for any papers, do you Dickie? Editor want a "fans want Pardew out?" lead, does he?
Billericay Dickie - My old man lives on the sheltered accomodation place on Queens Park Estate and frequents Waitrose loads of times doesnt where colours though. you see me in my new blue joma rain jacket around radford way.
I know 9 wins in 34 games is extremely poor but we are only 4 points off the top six. This can easily be turned around with a few wins strung together. I still back Pardew and at least he is trying to blood some youth team players for the future and at least he is trying to get the team to put the ball on the floor, although this wasn't evident last night. This development won't happen over night. I was just as angry at everyone else at the disappointing result and lack of performance. If we had one the last two games every one would have been singing his praises.
Getting rid of Pardew will only put us back in terms of development and financially, and besides who else is out there. I hear Billy Davies' name being banded around. What has he done apart from getting Derby up via the play offs which is a lottery in itself?
A tad of perspective please on all of this. Yes things are never great when the team we all love to hate beats us by agricultural methods. No we didn't tough it out enough, especially in midfield and the formation didn't work although many on here and on other forums have begged Pards to play that formation/Team. The reality is that Colin done a job on us last night. Stopped our wide players from getting forward for much of the game. Pards did change things at half time by pushing Bouazza up alongside Varney and moving Ambrose out wide left. Unfortunately the players didn't stay that way for more than five minutes or so when we looked dangerous. Was that Pards fault? Was it Pards fault when players failed to close down Watson giving him time to look up and pick out Palaces one striker who wasn't marked tightly enough by Cranie? Pards substitutions were bold and could have paid dividends. Arguably our best players have been injured and are only now struggling back,.
I still think we have better spirit than last season, we are just lacking in confidence which breeds fluency. All this premature talk of Dead men walking etc is way over the top and totally counter-productive in my view. We need to get behind the team and the manager. Roll on Saturday.
Isn't this all depressingly similar to the situation that happened at West Ham IMO? If you looked at their squad at the time they SHOULD have been doing much, much better than they were. I know for a fact he was getting pelters from the fans at the time for his team selection, tactics and substitutions and his press conferences threw up more spin than Monty. Back then he was effectively treating the fans like idiots who had no right to an opinion.
If you'd have asked me 5 years ago I'd have said he was perfect for Curb's replacement but by the time he was appointed I was very much in the "give him a good chance but you don't get the sack from West Ham for nothing" camp. They've had how many managers over the years? 11? 12? Our situation is not great financially so I don't expect him to get the push but I just hope he doesn't wait until after the transfer window to walk if he's going to.
The honeymoon's officially over after last night...
Bing all though your right in many aspects our wide players have been ineffective for the last 5 games which can not be a coincidence, and needed changing b4 lst night
The thing is the team seemed to be gelling without playing brilliantly and the hope was that picking up 4 away points would be a springboard for a decent win at home and then face Palarse with confidence. Sadly three minutes of madness put paid to that on Saturday.
I have been to all the last five games.
Wolves - Against a decent side we took the lead, had chances to increase our lead, gave away a dodgy penalty and some sloppy defending we fell away
Doncaster - On a wet semi-artificial pitch we struggled to cope with their neat football especially in the first half. We managed to grind out a win
Forest - A lively start by them and some robust defending by us. Gradually we established parity and evetually there was going to be only one winner but their keeper stopped all three points coming our way. Injury to Fortune.
Wednesday - Completely in charge and should have been further ahead. But for a mad three minute we would have one this game easily. Frantic attacking in the second half couldn't find a way through
Palarse - We failed to match the physical strength of Palarses play yet one decent cross or shot could have left us with a share of the points.
Since the start of the season, we have not played the same defence in any game. Hudson has been the only defender who has played in every league game. Just when the defence seemed to be performing better, Fortune got injured. There is a case for Moo2 instead of Cranie, the problem I suspect is that having signed him, we are obliged to play him if he's fit.
It's easy to be armchair managers, we're all brilliant at that but in practice things that look decent on paper don't always work out right in practice. Take last night for example. Some have (including me) have been calling for 4-5-1 with Ambrose in midfield. Pards tried it, it failed.
Pre-season and the start of the season has not been plain sailing with players sold, players staying who were expected to go, injuries to key players and new players coming in and going straight into the team.
Just a different perspective. I'm not happy but it is still early days and we are only a win or two away from the play offs

Kinda agree, I hate getting on the managers back as I want him to take us back up but some of his tactics and subs baffle me.
Personally I think he will walk by the end of the year, no way we will sack him we can't afford it
Pardoo will never walk so we are stuck with him.
