Anything other than plain is always disappointing, but as it goes, they are not too bad, the whole point of sticking Cabrini on our shirts is to get the brand known and "loved" falconwood...
Really agree with what was said in the other thread by Wilma about the black background on the sponsor cheapening it.
The home kit has the right formula, the red and white, badge on the breast etc. But it looks like about 4 different pieces of material stuck together.
Also on the white kit, the badge just doesn't sit right with the red n black panel running through it.
Maybe they will look better when i see them in person, but i'm not impressed. I'll add that i have liked every kit Joma have supplied for us in the past, so may explain why i'm disappointed with this pair, as i think they have set high standards.
will be keen to see them up close, the white with short sleves might be ok to knock around in, see the sponser is only for one year to start with, wonder what the odds would be if we get promoted JD sports will apear on the shirt? home is not too bad, more close up pics would be nicer is there a little collar like the england shirts on it? i wont be getting it but i think my son will want one for crimbo he will be 5 and i need to lead him down floyd road as his mother is a glory hunting man u fan.
lose the white chaff on the home kits.... as a traditionalist i like to keep the home kit simple red top and white shorts(shorts look good) ... one of the things i take the pee put of palace for is their gimmicky changing kits... for me too much white on home shirt...
not too bothered about away top

Agree with you there matey, has anyone seen the new arsenal kit? will try and get a link. Rivals our new one
[cite]Posted By: Brunello[/cite]Shouldnt you change this poll to 'How many people have we got who will moan at anything the club do'
Unfair.
There is no point in having these sort of sites if people are afraid to voice their opinion.
I'm a huge defender of most things related to the club, so much so some people on here thought i worked for them, but i don't like those two kits.
No big deal, won't affect my support for the club, they just won't be getting any extra cash from me buying them.
There are 1 or 2 at most that seem to moan at everything the club do, but that's balanced out by the 1 or 2 that defend everything the club do. The vast majority are somewhere in the middle, and i suspect that's the set up of every teams support.
gunners away shirt shades of michael thomas in injury time.. to be fair with ours, its aimed at kids and familes i wont be buying one but if i get one as a gift i wouldnt turn my nose up, just a shame they never ask us any more.

I quite agree with you but saying things like atrocious, worst kit for xx years is a little over the top when as I said elsewhere I am sure it is the manufacturers design and they wish to put out something they deem as different and modern. there ain't a lot you can do with red and white.
I personally love the return of the White w/ black and red away kit and have no problems with it
For me, the home kit has too much white in it (as usual)- particularly if that white band goes all the way around as my namesake suggests
I'll be buying the away kit unless the home looks better in person but at the end of the day, it's just a fashion thing for a bit of a kick around/around the house... I wouldn't care if we played in pink and orange spots if we got promoted

Its why i like to put a poll up on these things, so that threads don't get clouded by the more vocal ones.
I think saying though its largely down to what the manufacturer wants to put out really downplays the importance of what our shirts bring from two angles, income generated and brand recognition.
1. I've no idea what small percentage the club make on sales or how significant it is, but in our current position i'm sure any additional cash possible is welcomed. No other industry would put out a new product without some form of customer feedback on the prototypes, its good business sense to see if you are thinking on the same wavelength on the people that matter, those that will pay money.
Of course every opinion is different, but 1/2 hour with a small group of fans could of tweaked out a few things with these designs and made them more suitable IMO.
I'm not someone who buys them religiously, though i buy more than i don't. I probably won't be buying either of these, and if others see it similar to i do (no guarantee), then the club and the kit supplier will be missing out on easy cash i was willing to spend.
2. I don't know if others do, but i put significant importance on brand recognition away from the game. Every time someone wears a Charlton shirt when shopping in Bexleyheath / Bromley / Bluewater, or a kid that wears it football training is a walking advertisment for our club, and helps give us a stronger presence in core areas. Every time someone wears a shirt on holiday brings national and international recognition of the club. Albeit on a small scale, it all adds up to pushing our club as a recognisable brand. Surely its best to go that bit extra in the planning to try and design something that is going to bring maximum exposure to all parties, the club, the kit supplier and the sponsor ?
If the money generated from sales is not significant, I personally would try and push the kit supplier to a deal where whatever the bottom line figure needed to produce the shirt (£15 say) was added onto the season ticket price, and every single ST holder would receive a free shirt with their ST. The more of these things we get out there and exposed to the public, the better for everyone.

You can tell no-one loves the 'Cabrini' brand as they can't stop mentioning the more credile 'JD Sports' in the mail out.
'Unusual' = shit

i see it more as a baggy cycling jersey.
ROTHKO...... :-)
I won't be purchasing either one.
I can see a bad sunday morning pub team wearing the new away kit though.
Well said that man

It would be a boring world if everyone agreed on everything

Think you'll find the Black Background for the sponsors part was the sponsors final decision not the Clubs, so blame JD for that!
I hope the wife enjoys her XXL's
Hmmm , might come up a bit tight on her actually so I may have to borrow your one
