• Can't see it myself. If it was whoever arranged it and agreed to it needs shooting!
• After the antics around LB last time and all the fun and games i think it would be absolutely ridiculous for the club to arrange this!

but bring it on anyway... least they'll get a good gate ;-)
• I've also heard this from a Millwall source, don't quote me on it though.
• please let this be true.but its not.
• Praise the lord, I hope this is true
• The away game was great fun! Never seen so many cheap pink polo shirts.
• ha ha that was a funny day.

Went looking for some mate before the game ended up walking passed a pub full of them

Ended up talking to some Millwall bloke on the way back, conversation started tense outside the ground by the time we got to LB we had a good chat nice bloke
• R u sure ? why would we want that shower of sh*t down The Valley ? If your looking forward to it then you must have short memories of what games at The Valley against this lot are truely like.

NO WAY, NO WAY, NO WAY
• no way. I expect foreign opposition
• Oh bloody hell i hope not :(

• I hope im wrong dont really fancy these morons coming down
Plenty of other morons i would like down there
• What year was it one of those throwbacks got caught with a starting pistol in his pocket?
• If other potential pre-season games were poo-pooed for safety reasons, there is no way in the world this would be sanctioned.

Or someone wants shooting if it has.

I don't want those backward idiots, wannabees and teeneage chavs anywhere near our ground.
• Well said. If people think Palarse are our rivals and Nillwall dont care about us they are in for one big shock.
• Lamest Rumour of the season 0/10 for Effort guys.

We'll have one home game pre-season & the opposition will be from abroad, probably Spanish.

What i thought. Phew
• anyway, we can do better than Millwall for a long-serving employee and legend like Paddy. He deserves decent opposition and a decent crowd.
• What a complete load of crap!! Maybe an away game at the spanners but never at home.
•
[cite]Posted By: Fishnets[/cite]I thought it was going to be Rangers....;-)
oh dear LOL we can wish
• scum.

• Hold on, but is today April 1st.

The new kits and now rumours that them neaderthals are coming down here.

Please no.
• Does anybody recall the first Wall home game after we returned to the Valley in September 1993? They were kicking off in a fashion in the home end, Executive Boxes, and it was even alleged that Richard Murray got thumped. Anybody who has been that game vould offer a first-hand testimony of why a home 'friendly' with Millwall would be inappropriate.

They were only given half of the Jimmy Seed Stand if I recall correctly - the capacity was restricted because of the ground redevelopment.

Is it too much to ask for notable European opposition? Rangers? Celtic? Sampdoria? PSG? Lyon? Valencia? e.t.c....
• I remember 93.

2 Willmall (one wearing a cream over coat had to be in his 40's) were at the bottom of the covered end given it "no one likes us"
When a couple of charlton shirts clumped him and he ended being dragged out the ground out of it!

After the game though was a different story I remember a young Charlton fan laying on the floor in a pool of blood where he had just been striped down his back!

I heard after he never went to Charlton again after that!

The bloke who hit Murray/ Roger was Charlton!

They are foreign, can you understand them?
• I thought it was Roger Alwen who got attacked?

It was and I think it was by a fella who turned up on crimewatch a couple of weeks later

You're all wrong re Richard Murray anyway.
Richard Murray wasn't involved at all (indeed he may not even have even been at the game ), it was Roger Alwyen. He never got touched but manfully stood his ground and told the perpetrators to leave the directors box and never come back, he went red with rage.
The main culprit was a big time coke dealer off the Ferrier Estate and ironicly he turned up on a TV documentry some months later, something to do with police bribery as I remember.A large fellow and a nasty piece of work into the bargain, he later got done and served a long sentence.Just can't remember his name, though it may come to me later.
It made back page headlines in some of the Sunday's with photos of him and his gang at the game and he was named!
I know for a fact that at that time a very high ranking police officer from the serious crimes squad was a regular in the directors box and I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if he didn't know this bloke by sight and that his name was passed on or that they simply got his details from his hospitality booking and from that it got the press boys very interested.
He had been in the portacabins and had bought a hospitality package with a few of his cronies ( I saw one of them in Greenwich a few months later). They were quite clearly out of their skulls on drink and Charlie.
Not certain of what actualy went off in the directors box to cause the kerfuffle, I've heard several different versions, but broadly speaking it was something to do with one of the Charlton executive members sons getting clumped or spat at I believe.
If only I could remember his name, it's on the tip of my tongue???
• spittle ??

Merryman?
• i would love to play them again there is a good rivalry between them and us and yes that has spilt over in the past but nothing that we should worry about. it is not a good game for Paddy as he deserves a better class of team for his testi.

i gather none of you would go if we drew them in a cup competition home or dread the thought away come on folks it is only millwall we are not talking about going to istanbl and showing our arses or wiping it on their flag
