Charlton have done it again. A sponsorship deal for just ONE year. So next season we may have a new sponsor and the season after the kit deal expires so in one way or another we could have three different shirts in three seasons.
Like the home strip NOTICE that its an initial one year deal so the club MAY have to change the sponsor and the shirt/s again next season. Wheres the supporters club rep when you need him.

It's probably an initial one year so when we get promoted (ahem) we can get more revenue in the Prem.

To be fair to the club I believe the original LLanera deal and the Joma deal were due to run off at the same time which is the end of the season coming and not two years as being quoted so they have most probably signed an initial one year deal on two counts, firstly we will need a new kit supplier next year and also should promotion occur then a new deal is a whole new ball game.
[cite]Posted By: ross[/cite]i'm guessing the shirts will be here for 2 seasons as this is joma's last deal, but the sponsor may change on it. the sponsor ruins the shirt
correct, so effectivelt three new shirts in three seasons

We were in the market for a sponsor for a very long time, it wasn't a rushed decision so what we've got is obviously the best we could of attracted. Financials have tightened their belts in the last six months, as i presume have property groups / builders on an impending housing downturn, and with the close proximity to Canary Wharf and the gateway regeneration, those were probably our two best groups to form some sort of synegy.
To be honest, i'd of much preferred it with JD Sports on the front, or even Carbrini, but adding the Sportswear bit 'cheapens' it a bit in my eyes.
Like the home shirt, not sure abuot the away (looks like it should belong to derby, have to wait and see how the short sleeve version looks). Sponsors logo is crap, far too big and I imagine any semi decent design house could have produced a better logo, indeed the one on the pic of the brown zip-up top (can't remember if it was on this thread or the other shirt&sponsor thread) looks much much better
The away ain't bad but the home is fooking dreadful - looks like some cheap old bit of sh1te out of Primark.
As for the Carbrini brand as sponsor, I'd prefer not to have a sponsor that's associated with hoodie chavs but if the deal is the best we can get then crack on. At least the sportswear bit in the logo tries to differentiate.
Underwhelmed really. The last home kit was the nicest we'd had in a while. Away looks like a Sunday league team's kit. Just perusing the historical kits site to see Palace's fans (bless 'em) have voted to change their home strip (for the 8th consecutive season) back to their disgusting Thunderbirds strip of the 1970s. White with a red/blue sash style stripe. So we'll be wearing red at Selhurst next season!

Thumbs up from sunny Southampton (although you won't be able to buy them here).
