Selhurst is literally 5minutes from Penge High Street, so although you may well know more Millwall than Palace in Penge, I doubt very much if thats the case. I have drunk in most of the pubs in Penge, and have many friends from there, and have found it to be predominantly Palace, however as I say its so local to Selhurst, you'd be surprised if it wasn't. It would be like finding more Millwall in Greenwich than Charlton.
  • I always thought Penge was very much a Palarse area, Sydenham too. Downham estate/Bromley, Bellingham and Catford you were/are either Millwall or Charlton.
  • penge is millwall imo, most palace fans seem to come from out of london, hence where there horrific and brutal rivarly stems with brighton, two proud clubs with rich historys.

Penge & Sydenham are what I consider the Crystal Palace area, the stripes play in South Norwood though, wouldn't say it was a 5 minute walk.

Was in the swan in Bromley during the playoff semi-final second leg, there were about 5 Palace fans there. If Arsenal were playing a champions league match there would be about 30. There's no area where the majority of fans supports a South London team (who still play in South London).
  • my best mate lives in sydenham,i drink with him most weekends up there,a splattering of palace up there, mainly millwall fans and chelsea wannabees.crystal palace are quite unique in that i dont think they have any heartlands of support.

I spent far too much of my college time in the moon and stars, I'd honestly say in my experience Penge is more nillwall than scum.

Stupid arguement really as we both have an opinion, mine is probably slightly biased as I don't mix with scum, so probably didn't speak to the millions of palace ;-)

As you say its only opinion, but you're life might have been better if you had mixed more with the millions of Palace there. ;)
  • millwall not palace are scum imo

  • so true brother.
  • Millwall fans are small in numbers but you alwasy seem to spot them.

they're usually the scabby looking twats gobbing off....
  • As a former Penge resident, I would say Palace outnumber Millwall by a small margin. Armchair Gooners and armchair Chelsea outnumber both I am afraid.

I can't believe you'd leave Penge for the Algarve.
  • A lot of palace in shit heaps like Addington and Biggin Hill
  • ...compared to places like Thamesmead, they are palatial.
  • When was the last time you went through Addington, even the dogs carry knifes
  • it can be rough, but in Thamesmead you're issued with guns on entry.

Addington is ok, it's New Addington you have to worry about.

At least Biggin Hilla has a part of town called the "Valley", Scott Minto used to live there.

  • my other half is from Biggin Hill, she won't say a good word

My boss lives in Biggin Hill and he's a Palace supporter. To be fair if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't care less about them, I've only had a grudge against them since Jordan came along. I even go to England games with Palace fans!
  • I am not sure how relevant this exchange is.

My next door neighbour is a palace fan.

The chap who lives at the back of my house is mad keen Charlton.

As the crow flies Selout is about 1 mile nearer than the Valley.

Everywhere around here kids where Arsenal/Chelsea/Man U and Liverpool shirts.
  • What you will find in a lot of this is firm v firm hatred, Spurs traditional rivals are Arsenal obviously, but if you get down to the nitty gritty Spurs main rivals in the hooli league, like it or not are Chelsea.

Where the Fulham 4x4 chelsea tractor driving yuppies hatred of Brum comes from I dont know.
  • Am I right in thinking we all loathe the Standard though?
  • [cite]Posted By: BlackForestReds[/cite]Am I right in thinking we all loathe the Standard though?

That's one thing we can all agree on.

I think that's just because they beat them near the end of the season.

I agree with others generally that this list is dubious, however I find that amongst our supporters we seem to disagree on this subject a lot so who knows. Personally I would say Millwall, West Ham and Chelsea in that order. I find this Palace hatred almost as daft as their hatred of Brighton.
